Thursday, August 8, 2024, saw Kadokawa announce The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer anime’s production and January 2025 release window via an official promotional video. The promotional video also revealed the main cast and staff for the series and was also released alongside a key visual featuring the titular character and others.

While The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer anime series lacks a narrower release date beyond a general January 2025 window at this time, a full date should be shared soon. Fans can also expect additional cast to be announced for the series in the coming weeks and months as the aforementioned Winter 2025 release window draws nearer.

The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer anime’s first promotional video, which ran for roughly 90 seconds, focused on the titular character and others announced as a part of the news. It also introduced the other characters whose voice actors were revealed as a part of this initial announcement of the series’ production.

Tomoya Ito stars as Togo Asagaki, also known as Kizuna Red when in his transformed Red Ranger state. Also cast is Konomi Inagaki as Idola Avom, Minami Tanaka as Teltina Liz Wagrel Alvarost, and Tomohiro Ono as Rosie Mist. The trio seem to be Asagaki’s first friends in the new world he’s transported to, based on their appearance and portrayal in the anime’s promotional video.

Keiichiro Kawaguchi is directing the anime at Satelight studios, with Atsuhiro Tomioka handling the series composition. Shuji Maruyama is designing the characters for the series and is also serving as the chief animation director alongside Hideaki Onishi and Ayaki Ito. Koichiro Kameyama is composing the music for the series. It’s presumed that additional staff and cast will be announced as the series’ release window draws nearer.

In addition to Kadokawa’s announcement, the anime was also announced via the official X account for the Wing Nerima manga cafe. In a photo of several newly published manga volumes, the one for the anime’s source material featured a wraparound jacket band that read “TV anime starting on January 2025.”

The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer anime series will serve as the television anime adaptation of Koyoshi Nakayoshi’s original manga series. The full title for both is The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World. Nakayoshi’s manga series began serialization in Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine in October 2020 and is still ongoing today.

The series follows Asagaki, the Red Ranger, after he’s defeated by the ultimate evil organization during their final faceoff. While his death seemed inevitable, he instead finds himself transported to another world. He then becomes an adventurer to help those in need and continue fighting for justice.
