The Too-Perfect Saint: Tossed Aside by My Fiance and Sold to Another Kingdom anime is based on author Koki Fuyutsuki and illustrator Masami's fantasy romance light novel series of the same name. Overlap has been publishing the novels since April 2021, with six tankobon volumes released thus far. The series also has a manga adaptation with Mago Ayakita's art.

On Sunday, October 20, 2024, the 5th Overlap Bunko All-Star Roundup event was held, where the official staff revealed a promotional video and teaser visual to confirm the production of The Too-Perfect Saint: Tossed Aside by My Fiance and Sold to Another Kingdom anime. According to the announcement, the fantasy romance anime will be released in 2025.
Simultaneously, a new website and X (formerly Twitter) account were opened to share the announcement PV and visual. The 30-second-long trailer showcases the main heroine, Philia, leaving the castle of her homeland, the Kingdom of Jiltonia.
The PV gives fans the first impression of the heroine, who has been sold to her neighboring country. Likewise, the teaser visual showcases Philia in all her glory. She appears in a lovely dress and with a faint smile. The official website describes Philia as "Too perfect to be lovable."
Yui Ishikawa has joined the series as the voice actor of Philia. Other cast members will be revealed sooner rather than later. Additionally, the official website has listed the primary staff members for the anime. Shuu Watanabe directs the fantasy romance anime at TROYCA studios, with Keiichiro Ochi supervising the series scripts. Shuhei Yamamoto is in charge of the character designs.

The narrative revolves around Philia, whose family has produced numerous saints for generations. Philia, who is known as the greatest saint of all time, gets betrothed to the second prince, Julius.
