Saturday, August 3, 2024, saw The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic season 2 officially confirmed as coming via a panel at the Otakon convention in Washington D.C. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The anime adapts the light novel series of the same name written by Kurokata and illustrated by KeG. This light novel is an adaptation of Kurokata’s original web novel series, which began on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in March 2014 and is still ongoing today. The light novel began in March 2016 and concluded exactly four years later to the day in 2020, but was followed up by a sequel light novel series, which began in December 2023.
The series follows Ken Usato, who is transported into a fantasy world with student council president Suzune Inukami and classmate Kazuki Ryuusen while walking home together. While Suzune and Kazuki are the only ones summoned as heroes, Usato’s fate changes when it’s discovered he possesses the incredibly rare healing magic. Usato is then abducted by a healer known as Rose, starting his journey to becoming a healing mage.
