On Tuesday, November 19, 2024, REMOW informed Sportskeeda Anime about There's No Freaking Way I'll Be Your Lover! Unless... anime adaptation via email correspondence. The anime will be broadcast in July 2025. In addition, the series has also unveiled its teaser visual, trailer, cast, and characters.

There's No Freaking Way I'll Be Your Lover! Unless..., shortened as WATANARE, is a light novel series written by Teren Mikami and illustrated by Eku Takeshima. The light novel series is published by Shueisha under the Dash X Bunk label and has sold over 500,000 copies worldwide.

On Tuesday, November 19, REMOW announced the anime adaptation of There's No Freaking Way I'll Be Your Lover! Unless... light novel series. The anime produced by Studio Mother will be broadcast in July 2025.

The teaser visual shows Mai Oduka hugging Renako Amaori around her waist, while Renako herself is left surprised by Mai's action.

As for the teaser trailer, it majorly showcased Mai Oduka's confession to Renako Amaori. While Renako had entered high school hoping to escape her lonely life, her negative temperament made it difficult for her to adjust to the sunny life she longed for.

Just then, an active model, classmate, and school superstar Mai Oduka confessed to Renako that she had fallen in love with her. Renako is shocked at this development as she tries to get a grip on her wavering feelings of friendship and romance.

Renako Amori is voiced by Kanna Nakamura. She is the main character who longs for a life of popularity. However, as an introvert, her communication problems get in the way.

Mai Oduka is voiced by Saori Onishi. She is the leader of the group and a superstar at school. She is nicknamed "Miss Perfect" or "Supadari" and likes to be pampered by the people she likes.

Ajisai Sena is voiced by Yukari Anzai. She is the healer of the group and has an archangel-like personality. She has a deep sense of affection and words hard as an older sister to two little brothers.

Lastly, there are two other characters, namely Satsuki Koto and Kaho Koyanagi. The voice actors for the two characters are yet to be revealed. Satsuki is Mai's childhood friend who wants to make her feel defeated one day. As for Kaho, she is the mascot of the group and is a fan of Mai.
