On October 21, 2024, the anime adaptation of This Monster Wants to Eat Me (Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi) was announced through a teaser trailer released on the official YouTube channel of Infinite Studios, which will also be producing the anime series. Moreover, the main voice casting and staff members for the anime adaptation were also announced. The anime is set to air in 2025.
The anime adaptation is based on a manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Sai Naekawa. It is a girl's love genre manga series combined with the Seinen demographic that started its serialization in August 2020.

The anime is a drama-supernatural series centered around Hinako Yaotose, a high school girl who lives in a town by the sea. Hinako's body is special as it allures nearby monsters into devouring her.
One day, as Hinako was walking by the sea, a mermaid named Shiori emerged and claimed to protect Hinako from other monsters so that she could devour her when she was mature. However, with both of them spending their lives together every day, will new feelings emerge between the hunter and the hunted?
