On Friday, September 20, 2024, Sony Music Solutions informed Sportskeeda Anime via email correspondence about Tokyo Ghoul EX, the immersive experience exhibition to celebrate 10 years of Tokyo Ghoul anime. The exhibition will see the visitors receive illustrations drawn by manga creator Sui Ishida.
Tokyo Ghoul EX was first announced in July 2024. At the time, the anime hadn't revealed much about the exhibition, except for its opening and closing dates in Tokyo and Osaka. Even the ticket details were only revealed for the Tokyo event. Fortunately, with Sony Music Solutions' latest announcement, fans finally know about the exhibition and Osaka event.
Tokyo Ghoul EX set to be an immersive experience exhibition
On Friday, September 20, 2024, Sony Music Solutions announced new details about Tokyo Ghoul EX. The exhibition will see visitors receive a special giveaway illustration drawn by manga creator Sui Ishida. With the announcement, the anime also unveiled an illustration for the giveaway piece.
As evident from the above illustrations, there are two of them. Exhibition visitors at the Tokyo venue will receive a mini shikishi board of Ken Kaneki in Anteiku uniform, and the visitors at the Osaka venue will receive one of Ken Kaneki awakened with white hair after his battle against Yamori. Each of the illustrations is exclusive to the locations.
The Tokyo Exhibition will take place from Monday, October 21 to Sunday, December 1, at Warehouse TERRADA G1 Building. Meanwhile, the Osaka Exhibition will take place between Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 29, at VS. (at Grand Green Osaka).
Considering that the Tokyo ticket details were revealed previously, the organizers unveiled the ticket details for the Osaka venue this time. The venue tickets will go on sale on Saturday, September 21, at 10 am JST.
There are three different types of tickets. The ticket with Exclusive Made-to-Order Goods will see the visitors receive an Original illustration pin set (numbered) and an Acrylic diorama of key visuals. Visitors carrying the ticket with Exclusive Goods will receive an Acrylic diorama of key visuals. Lastly, the Admission Ticket will only grant entry to visitors. Each ticket is priced at 12,000 yen, 5,800 yen, and 3,300 yen, respectively.
There will also be a "First Come, First Served" Visitor Giveaway at Tokyo Ghoul EX, which will allow visitors to win a specially designed limited version package artwork. There are four lenticular cards, each showing a different image depending on the viewing angle.
As for the events' highlights, there will be a Kaneki vs. Yamori Immersive Theater. The theater will use a combination of thrilling images and haptics, which use floor vibration to stimulate the senses of touch, perfectly reproducing epic scenes from the anime. In addition, the exhibition will disclose the production process of Ken Kaneki's mask, allowing fans to witness the finished product at the venues.
Lastly, Sony Music Solutions unveiled some merchandise that fans could purchase at Tokyo Ghoul EX. There will be a wide variety of original items, including illustrations that were newly created by Kazuhiro Miwa (Tokyo Ghoul character designer) and Atsuko Nakajima (Tokyo Ghoul:re character designer).
