On June 16, 2024, the Tokyo Revengers anime sequel was announced via the series' official X account (@anime_toman). Alongside this announcement, the official YouTube channel of the series released an announcement video that compiled some moments from the previous seasons. Additionally, a spin-off titled Fairy Tale Revengers was announced.
Tokyo Revengers is adapted from a manga series written and illustrated by Ken Wakui. The manga has received various anime adaptations, with its first season released in April 2021, the second in January 2023, and the third in October 2023. All of its anime adaptations were animated by LIDENFILMS.

Tokyo Revengers anime sequel announced
The Tokyo Revengers anime sequel announcement tweet featured a visual of Takemitchy, the protagonist, holding Mikey, one of the supporting protagonists. The description stated the start of the production of the Tokyo Revengers anime sequel as:
"TV anime "Tokyo Revengers." A sequel is in the works! The sequel production key visual has also been released!"
An announcement video was also uploaded, which consisted of a compilation of moments from the previous seasons. The video began with the scene where Hina dies in a car accident plotted by Kisaki Tetta, and Takemitchy promises to save her in another timeline.
The video then showed a preview of Takemitchy's journey from the first episode with the first season's opening theme, Cry Baby by Official HIGE DANDISM, playing in the background. The video ended with an audio of Mikey requesting Takemitchy to save him, and the same visual was showcased in the announcement tweet.
What will the Tokyo Revengers anime sequel be?
The announcement tweet and YouTube video for the Tokyo Revengers anime sequel did not specify whether it would be a TV series, movie, or an OVA series. Whatever it may be, it would be centered around either the next arc or the next two arcs.
The last season of Tokyo Revengers (season 3) adapted the Tenjiku arc, which consisted of 13 episodes. Chronologically, the next arc for adaptation would be the Bonten arc, which consists of 21 chapters only.
So, if the Tokyo Revengers anime sequel is a TV series, it could compile the next arc with the second last arc, the Three Deities arc (29 chapters), as a single season and adapt the finale arc, the Kanto Manji arc (43 chapters), as a separate finale season.
On the other hand, if it is a movie, it would adapt the next arc as a movie, and for the future, adapt the final arc as a whole season. The final arc consists of two arcs, the Three Deities arc and the Kanto Manji arc.
Fairy Tale Revengers is a spin-off chibi series revolving around characters from Tokyo Revengers. Each episode would showcase the characters from the series in the setting of a fairy tale. The first episode will see the characters in the Japanese folktale of Momotarou, the boy born from a giant peach.
