Tower of God season 2’s Workshop Battle Arc gives sneak peek at opening, ending sequences ahead of premiere
The ending video for Tower of God season 2 begins with watercolor-like illustrations, with most of the drawings being fairly abstract. Some obvious references are made, such as Emile and Jahad’s symbols appearing. However, the video is mostly abstract in its visuals, also making for very fluid and amorphous scenes throughout most of the sequence.
It ends with a shot of someone standing on top of a spire, seemingly surrounded by floating rock-like objects. The video also plays the television cut of the Falling Up ending theme song as the animation plays out. The ending video was directed by award-winning animator and videographer Tarafu Otani at Onakama Studio. Otani is also in charge of storyboarding and animation for the season.
Kazuyoshi Takeuchi is serving as chief director for the new second season, with Kei Suzuki replacing Takashi Sano as director at The Answer Studio. Telecom Animation Film animated the first season. Erika Yoshida is back in charge of the series scripts, co-writing them with Takeshi Miyamoto and Riuju Yoshizaki. Miho Tanino also returns in character design, with Seigo Kitazawa and Isamitsu Kashima joining. Kitazawa is also the chief animation director.
The season began in July 2024 with the anime’s Return of the Prince Arc, which ended with the 13th episode on Sunday, September 29. NiziU performed the arc’s opening theme Rise Up and the ending theme Believe. Crunchyroll is streaming the series internationally as it airs weekly in Japan in North, Central, and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS territories. Several dubs, including an English one, are being produced.
Season 2 serves as the continuation of the television anime adaptation of author and illustrator SIU’s original manhwa series of the same name. The first season premiered in April 2020 as a part of the Crunchyroll Originals lineup, which is made up of series produced by Crunchyroll in conjunction with WEBTOON. The God of High School, Noblesse, and more popular manhwa adaptations were also part of the inaugural slate.
