As mentioned above, the Trillion Game anime series will return from its two-week delay on Friday, January 10, 2025, in Japan. This will mark the start of its second cour, which features a new opening theme song Over the Top performed by Hiroji Miyamoto, and a new ending theme song Egoist performed by imase. Each theme song is previewed at one point during the promotional video, which runs for roughly two-and-a-half minutes.

In total, four new cast members were announced, including Toshihiko Seki as Toru Hebijima, Masaki Terasoma as Sumeragi, Lynn as Akari Shirotora, and the aforementioned Kenjiro Tsuda as Kunugi. Seki’s most recognizable role is likely as Demon Slayer’s Muzan Kibutsuji, while Lynn’s is likely as Oshi no Ko’s Miyako Saito, and Terasoma’s as Fate’s Soichiro Kuzuki. As mentioned above, Tsuda’s is likely as Jujutsu Kaisen’s Kento Nanami.

The second cour’s premiere will be commemorated by a livestream held in advance on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 8 pm Japanese Standard Time (6 am Eastern Standard Time).

The Trillion Game anime first premiered on Japanese broadcast television and streaming services on October 3, airing its first two episodes. Crunchyroll streams the anime in North, Central, and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS with English subtitles as it airs weekly in Japan.

Yuzu Sato is directing the series at Madhouse studios, with Ryunosuke Kingetsu overseeing the series scripts, Kei Tscuhiya designing the characters, and Takuro Iga composing the music. The series centers on the carefree Haru and the serious Gaku, two men plotting to earn a trillion dollars so they can afford anything they would ever want.

While Haru is very charismatic and persuasive as a public speaker, Gaku is awkward. However, he’s also a highly skilled programmer. The two first met as middle school classmates, but eventually reunite when Gaku applies to a bank company and is rejected. The television anime series adapts author Riichiro Inagaki and illustrator Ryoichi Ikegami’s original manga series of the same name.
