Übel Blatt anime confirms Winter 2025 premiere and more with trailer and visual

Übel Blatt anime is set to premiere in Winter 2025, as confirmed by the show's official staff at Anime Expo 2024 on Friday, July 5. The staff streamed a promotional video for the anime at the event and unveiled a key visual. A new cast member and the main staff for the series were also announced.

Based on Etorouji Shiono's dark fantasy manga, Übel Blatt anime was green-lit for production by Pony Canyon in February this year. The manga had been serialized in Young Gangan before it was shifted to the Monthly Big Gangan in 2011.

The series ran til 2019, publishing 24 tankobon volumes. Satelight and Staple Entertainment are jointly producing the anime adaptation.

On Friday, July 5, 2024, a panel was held for the Übel Blatt anime at Anime Expo 2024 in Los Angeles, USA, where the staff streamed a trailer to announce that the series will premiere in Winter 2025. In other words, the anime will air its episodes in the first quarter of 2025 (January to March).

The English-subtitled trailer showcases the main character, Köinzell, embarking on a blood-stained path of revenge. Aside from highlighting Köinzell's fury, the PV depicts the other characters and the anime's gritty and dark theme. The trailer also teases the anime's intriguing plot.

The official website and X account have shared the trailer for fans. Besides the PV, a new key visual depicting the protagonist, Köinzell, wielding his Dark Blade has been unveiled.

He stands on the edge, firm on his resolution to seek revenge against those who wronged him. Aside from Köinzell, the visual depicts two moons in the background. Undoubtedly, the illustration highlights the anime's gritty and dark tone.

Apart from the PV and the visual, the official staff has announced a new cast member for the Übel Blatt anime. Hina Tachibana, the renowned voice actor, stars as Peepi.

A comment from the voice actor has arrived on the anime's website, where she revealed that she was encouraged by Peepi's honest and straightforward personality. Tachibana-san will join Yuya Hirose, who plays the role of Köinzell.

Takashi Naoya, known for his contributions to the Vermeil in Gold and Am I Actually the Strongest? anime, directs the dark fantasy series at Satelight and Staple Entertainment, with Tatsuya Takahashi in charge of the series composition. Kiyoshi Tateishi is enlisted as the character designer.
