On Thursday, October 17, 2024, the official staff for Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! anime shared a new visual and announced that the show will be released in January 2025. Along with this announcement, the staff has unveiled the details regarding additional cast members and the theme songs.

Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! anime is an adaptation of author Suzuki Makishima and illustrator Yappen's eponymous light novel series. Hobby Japan serializes the light novels under the HJ Novels imprint. The series also has a manga adaptation with Shimo Aono's art.


Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! anime debuts in January 2025

The official website and X account announced on Thursday, October 17, 2024, that Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! anime will begin broadcasting in January 2025 on the Animeism programming slot on TBS, CBC, MBS, and other channels in Japan. A comprehensive breakdown of the broadcast timings will be revealed in the future.

A new key visual for Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! anime has also been unveiled. The illustration depicts Mariabelle, Kazuhiro, and Uridora, dressed in autumn attire, visiting the Hirosaki Castle in Japan.

Besides the visual, the official staff announced two new cast members. Yumi Uchiyama joined the voice cast as the dragon, Uchidora, whom Mariabelle and Kazuhiro encountered in the deepest region of the ruins. She will be joined by Rico Sasaki, who plays the role of a cat child, Myui. The anime stars Yusuke Kobayashi as Kazuhiro Kitase and Kaede Hondo as Mariabelle.

Information on the theme songs and their artists has also been shared. Sasaki performs the opening theme song, Palette Days, while Niisanji's VTuber, Higuchi Kaede, and Kanae are collaborating on the ending theme song, Yummy Yummy. Comments from the artists have arrived on the anime's official site, where they shared their excitement about being part of the series.

Toru Kitahara is directing the comedy fantasy anime at Zero-G Studios, with Aya Yoshinaga as the composer and scriptwriter. Madoka Hirayama is credited as the chief animation director and the character designer.

Based on Suzuki Makishima's light novel series, Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! anime is a rom-com fantasy series centered around Kazuhiro, an office worker who loves to sleep. One day, he enters an unknown world within his dreams and befriends a gorgeous elf girl.

However, their friendship is cut short by a dragon's scorching breath. Yet, as Kazuhiro wakes up, he finds the same elf girl (Mariabelle) beside him. As such, the anime showcases Kazuhiro and his elf friend, Mariabelle's unique chemistry in modern Japan.
