Witch Hat Atelier anime is set to premiere in 2025, as confirmed by the anime's official staff at the Anime Expo 2024 via a promotional video on Friday, July 5, 2024. Along with this announcement, the names of the main staff members have been revealed.

Witch Hat Atelier anime serves as an adaptation of the eponymous manga series, written and illustrated by Kamome Shirahama. Kodansha's Morning Two magazine has been serializing the manga since July 2016, with 13 volumes published thus far.

The magazine green-lit the anime adaptation of Shirahama's fantasy manga series in 2022. According to the announcement made at the Anime EXPO 2024, BUG FILMS is in charge of the anime's production.

On Friday, July 5, 2024, the official staff for the Witch Hat Atelier anime showed a promotional video during the show's panel at the Anime Expo 2024, to reveal the anime's 2025 release window and main staff. A narrower release date is yet to be disclosed.

The latest trailer highlights the small girl, Coco, who happens to be the protagonist of the Witch Hat Atelier anime. Coco, a girl from a small village, dreams of becoming a wizard. The PV shows her living in a dreamy landscape, filled with flora and fauna.

Coco's innocent eyes sparkle with delight as she notices a magical feathered carriage driving by. Undoubtedly, the trailer showcases the anime's beautiful setting, animation quality, and Coco's fateful encounter with magic.

Aside from the promotional video, the official staff has unveiled a teaser visual at the event. The illustration depicts the atelier, where the young girl, Coco, studies magic to fulfill her dream of becoming a wizard.


The main staff for the Witch Hat Atelier

Ayumu Watanabe, known for his contributions to the Doraemon movies and Ace Attorney series, serves as the director for the fantasy anime at BUG FILMS. The studio has garnered popularity for working on the Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead.

Hiroaki Kojima, the animation producer for the Komi Can't Communicate series, is enlisted as the producer, while Kairi Unabara has joined the main staff as the character designer. Yuka Kitamura is listed as the music producer.

Kazuki Kawagoe, noted for his work in Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, has directed the promotional video. Kamome Shirahama, Ayumi Watanabe, Unabara-san, and Kitamura-san spoke about the adaptation at the panel at Anime Expo 2024.

Based on Kamome Shirahama's manga, the Witch Hat Atelier anime centers around Coco, a young girl from a small village. Coco had a dream of becoming a wizard; however, she was born without any magical aptitude.

She was on the verge of giving up her dream when, one day, she met a traveling wizard, Qifrey, at the village. After seeing him perform magic, the girl's dream was rekindled. The anime focuses on Coco's adventure in a fantasy land.
