On Wednesday, December 25, 2024, several reports online claimed that Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku is set to receive a new manga by creator Fujito. This manga is seemingly set to commemorate the 10th Anniversary Exhibition set to take place in March 2025.

Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku, written and illustrated by Fujita, was a Japanese web manga series serialized between April 2014 and July 2021. The manga's chapters were collected into 11 tankōbon volumes and had over 10 million copies in circulation. The anime was picked up by A-1 Pictures for an anime adaptation, which aired from April to June 2018.

On Wednesday, December 25, 2024, several reports online claimed that Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku will be getting a completely new manga by creator Fujita for the 10th Anniversary Exhibition.

As mentioned earlier, the manga series began serialization in April 2014. Hence, it is soon set to celebrate its 10th Anniversary with an exhibition. The "Wotakoi" Art Exhibition will start in March 2025 in Tokyo. This event will also display the newly drawn Fujita manga.

For now, the manga hasn't unveiled a lot of details. However, considering that the original manga finished serialization in 2021, fans should expect the new manga to feature some extra stories or be a time-skip one-shot.


Fans' reaction to Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku getting a new manga

Most fans were elated after learning about Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku getting a new manga. Hence, they expressed the same online by saying they would definitely be reading it.

Meanwhile, other fans seemed a bit confused. Given that they were anime-only fans, they did not know the original manga had finished serialization.

"You don't know how hard I screamed. On all my mutuals' lives we will be reading," one fan said.
"Another manga? I'm confused and I'm anime only, did they never finish the manga or something?," another fan said.
"What does "Getting a completely new manga" Mean?? A Sequel or something??", another added.
"Is there any chances for season 2?," other fan said.

Other fans started deducing what "getting a new manga" meant. Did it mean a sequel manga or a side story? Unfortunately, there is no answer for that right now. Lastly, some fans were left doubtful whether the new manga suggested the chance of a second season for the anime. Hopefully, more information will be unveiled soon.
