Yatagarasu anime confirms Kin no Karasu arc's adaptation with new PV

The official staff for the Yatagarasu anime shared a promotional video on Sunday, June 30, 2024, to confirm the adaptation of the Kin no Karasu arc from the original light novel series. According to the short video, the new arc will premiere on July 20, 2024. Additionally, the staff announced a new cast member for the upcoming arc.

Yatagarasu anime is an adaptation of the original Japanese novel series Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master, written by Chisato Abe. The anime premiered on April 6, 2024, on NHK channel in Japan. Crunchyroll is simulcasting the episodes of the series.

Yatagarasu anime's new trailer teases the Kin no Karasu arc for July 20, 2024

On Sunday, June 30, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) handle for the Yatagarasu anime shared a new promotional video to announce that Chisato Abe's third novel, Kin no Karasu (The Golden Crow), will be made into a new arc starting July 20, 2024, on NHK.

The latest trailer previews the upcoming arc, which will take place after the turbulent selection of the Queen. With Yukiya leaving the young prince, a new threat looms large for the boy. The PV shows Yukiya, Wakamiya, and other important characters.

The official staff has also announced A new cast member for the Yatagarasu anime. Yume Miyamoto, the renowned VA, has joined the voice cast as Koume. The promotional video features Koume and previews her character's voice.

A comment from Yume Miyamoto has also arrived on the official site, where she explained that she could sense determination and strength in Koume's expression. She didn't want to portray only a cheerful girl but brought out her struggles through voice acting.

Staff and the plot for the Yatagarasu anime

Yoshiaki Kyogoku, renowned for his contributions to the Laid-Back Camp anime's first two seasons and movie, directs the dark fantasy series at Studio Pierrot, with Yukiko Yamamuro supervising the scripts. Takumo Norita is the character designer, while Eishi Segawa is enlisted as the music composer.

Based on Chisato Abe's novels, Yatagarasu anime centers around the Yatagarasu, who can shape-shift between human beings and crows. They live in a parallel world called Yamauchi, created by the Yatagarasu God, Yamagami.

The dark fantasy anime follows the story of Yukiya, a Yatagarasu, who is appointed the attendant of the Crown Prince, Wakamiya. However, he gets entangled in the conspiracies of the clan and forms a unique bond with Wakamiya.
