Zatsu Tabi -That's Journey anime announces April 2025 release, additional cast, and more with new PV

On December 23, 2024, Kadokawa (a Japanese production company) released the first promotional trailer for Zatsu Tabi -That's Journey anime. The trailer not only revealed the April 2025 release window but also the additional voice casting, staff members, and the series' theme songs.

Zatsu Tabi -That's Journey anime is based on a manga series written and illustrated by Kenta Ishizaka. The manga is ongoing and has 11 serialized volumes, with the latest set to be released on December 27, 2024 (only Japanese).

Zatsu Tabi -That's Journey anime set to be released in April 2025

The promotional trailer for Zatsu Tabi -That's Journey anime commenced with a focus on the protagonists as some footage from the series was revealed. This was followed by the reveal of the additional/supporting characters, followed by a preview of the series' theme songs. The promotional trailer ended with the April 2025 release window announcement.

The opening theme song, as previewed in the promotional trailer, is titled Tabi Shiyo! don't you? performed by Harmoe (the ending theme song of My Stepmom's Daughter is My Ex).

The ending theme song is titled bookmarks performed by Shizuk (the ending theme song of Kiss x Sis). Animation studio Makaria, which also worked on Dropkick on My Devil!! Apocalypse Day, is animating the series.

The voice casting of Zatsu Tabi -That's Journey anime includes Satomi Satou (Chitanda from Hyouka) as Fuyune Koujiya and Youko Hikasa (Tio from Arifureta) as Riri Tenkuobashi. The series's main protagonist, Chika Suzugamori, is voiced by Hika Tsukishiro (Yui from Daeimon).

Some newly announced staff members were also announced, and some interesting ones include Nanami Hakoda (costume designer of Vampire Dormitory) as the costume designer, rere (who is also the character designer of this anime) as the chief animation director, and Kadokawa (producer of My Happy Marriage) as the music production studio.

The anime is a slice-of-life series in a seinen demographic, telling the tale of an aspiring manga author. Chika Suzugamori is a young graduate who goes around his town, sending her manga drafts to different publishers in hopes of becoming a manga artist.

Unfortunately, she is rejected by everyone, and the option of 'giving up' is in plain sight. However, instead of putting her pen down, she decides to go on a journey into the mountain with no destination in mind, hoping to come up with an idea that would blow the socks off of every publisher.
