The Demon Slayer series is at a crucial stage, with the demon hunters having launched an all-out attack on Kibutsuji Muzan and his lackeys. During the Hashira Training arc, the demonic activity was rather low. One of the demon hunters even called it the calm before the storm.
Muzan and his demons went into hiding and continued their preparations as the Demon King wanted to get his hands on Nezuko Kamado. The main reason for this was that she conquered the sun, which was revealed in the Swordsmith Village arc.
However, certain fans have reason to believe that Nezuko Kamado would not have been able to help Muzan achieve his goals. One Reddit discussion proposed a similar theory and used real-life science to support the claim.

Demon Slayer: Fan theory suggests Muzan would not have conquered the sun even if he found Nezuko
As stated, the Demon King wanted to find Nezuko to achieve his goal - true immortality. Since his medication was incomplete, it had an odd effect on Muzan. He was forced to eat human beings to sustain himself, and exposure to sunlight was lethal.
One of the most important parts of this theory is identifying the differences that distinguish Nezuko and Muzan. Technically, they’re both demons. However, the manner in which they function is extremely different, and a few factors could affect this.
Despite being a demon, Nezuko didn’t consume human flesh at any given point. She survived by taking extremely long naps, which was odd at first. One of the reasons she survived without human flesh was because she managed to retain a portion of humanity. This was key in Nezuko conquering the sun and eventually reverting to her old state.
Another interesting fact is that her mother often brewed tea and incorporated Blue Spider Lily. This was the missing ingredient that Muzan needed to conquer the sun. The plant also blooms just once or twice a year during the daytime when exposure to the sun is at its best.
Furthermore, the Kamado family had a close connection to Sun Breathing users, making Nezuko unique. Their history was why Muzan killed the entire family in the Demon Slayer series.
Muzan’s incomplete medication had a cascading effect. The first side effect was his reliance on human flesh as a source of energy. This, in turn, could have inverted the regenerative properties of the Blue Spider Lily. The plant seems to have a profound connection with sunlight since it blooms only during the daytime when exposure to the sun is at its best.
Nezuko Kamado’s connection to the sun and consumption of tea with Blue Spider Lily could have given her partial plant-like properties. This could also explain the vine-like marks when she underwent a transformation in the Entertainment District arc.
Since energy cannot be created and can only be absorbed or expelled, she could have received energy from the sun in small amounts. But how is it possible for her to do this when she couldn’t expose herself to sunlight? The moon reflects about 3-12 percent of sunlight’s incident rays. She might have derived energy from the sun in extremely small amounts.
Eventually, she even managed to conquer the sun in the Demon Slayer series. While Tamayo was hard at work and crafted medicine specifically for her, her affinity to the sun had a major role to play.
Even if Muzan had consumed Nezuko, her ability to conquer the sun would not have been transferred to him. This is because they’re vastly different in the way they function. The Demon King’s reliance on human flesh might have been a massive barrier.
It is important to note that this is a theory that was put forth by the fanbase, and readers must await confirmation from official sources.
