The recent death in One Piece has left fans feeling remarkably indifferent. The death of Saint Jaygarcia Saturn takes center stage in Chapter 1125, though it's unlikely to be mourned by fans. This action-packed chapter features Saturn's dramatic demise, marked by a spectacular explosion of black flames and lightning. This ultimately reduces him to a skeletal form.

Saturn's death signals a shift in power dynamics, with Saint Garling Figarland taking over his duties as Warrior God of Science and Defense. Got it. While One Piece has had its fair share of heart-wrenching losses and intense moments, Saturn’s death feels out of place.

Saturn's One Piece death is a well-deserved consequence rather than a tragic event

There are various reasons why fans will not cry over the death of Saint Saturn. He was such an abhorrent figure, committing heinous crimes that impacted not just one but many characters.

He was responsible for the horrific experiments that took place with Jewelry Bonney's mother, Ginny. This eventually led to her death, and Bonney herself developed the incurable Sapphire Scales disease.

Saturn did not stop there. He used Bonney as leverage to coerce her father Bartholomew Kuma, into becoming a cyborg weapon for the World Government. This transformation stripped Kuma of all his free will.

This heartless manipulation resulted in unimaginable suffering for Bonney and Kuma, turning what should have been a father-daughter bond into a tragic tale of loss and control.

Saturn's presence in the story will be remembered for the pain he was able to inflict upon others, making his death a relief rather than a tragedy.

How Saturn planned his own death 200 years ago, explained

Saint Jaygarcia Saturn unknowingly sealed his own fate 200 years ahead of time by rescuing the ancient robot Emeth. After this robot attacked Mariejois on Saturn's command, Saturn decided to have a team of scientists study it. He chose not to destroy it, believing that its potential was well worth the investment for the World Government.

This decision backfired big time when Emeth played a significant role in the Straw Hats' escape. To Imu, Saturn's failure to neutralize Emeth as a threat betrayed the government's interests. Saturn's decision to spare the robot sealed his fate in One Piece Chapter 1125.

Final thoughts

The actions of Saturn were so despicable and destructive that his death was more of a consequence than a tragic event.

Whether it’s the experiments on Ginny, transforming Kuma into an emotionless killing machine, causing Bonney's suffering, or contributing to Vegapunk’s death, all these horrific actions leave a trail of misery.
