Produced by AtelierPontdarc, No Longer Allowed in Another World Episode 3, titled I'm Ready to Die Anytime, was released on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. The episode picked up the events from the previous installment and showed how Osamu Dazai and his party got gravely wounded.

Besides that, the major highlight of the episode was the worldbuilding and the portrayal of the "other worlders," who aren't as benevolent as one might expect from a standard Isekai viewpoint.

Hiroshi Noda's narrative continues to break the Isekai norms with No Longer Allowed in Another World Episode 3 and propels Osamu Dazai as a unique protagonist. The episode also implied that he had been summoned to Zauberberg for a greater purpose than eradicating the Dark Lord.

No Longer Allowed in Another World Episode 3 review: Focusing on the worldbuilding, characters, and Osamu Dazai's purpose

After a nail-biting cliffhanger in the previous installment, the anticipation surrounding No Longer Allowed in Another World Episode 3 was immense. It was revealed that Osamu Dazai and his party were attacked by Waldelia, the dark lord, who detested "other worlders."

AtelierPontdarc has remarkably done justice to the pacing, with No Longer Allowed in Another World Episode 3 covering Chapters 4, 5, and 21 pages from Chapter 6. This pacing allowed the esteemed studio to focus on the key elements, without rushing the events much.

The episode chiefly gave fans a glimpse into the Isekai world. It was revealed that Zauberberg has four cathedrals, where adventurers from the other world are summoned. Once summoned to the fantasy land, they must venture to the central zone to defeat the Dark Lord, which is their primary purpose.

Interestingly, these four cathedrals are scattered around the world, which is why, one must traverse through the entire land to visit each church. Annette, the Elven priest, wanted to help Osamu Dazai find Sacchan, who could be summoned by any of the three remaining cathedrals.

Hiroshi Noda's narrative establishes the series' scope with this interesting revelation. The setting allows this fantasy anime to add layers to elevate the worldbuilding. The juxtaposition of these fantasy elements (Isekai towns, unique creatures, characters) with Osamu Dazai's dark humor adds uniqueness to the entire narrative.

However, However, that's not all No Longer Allowed in Another World Episode 3 offered. The party had been ready to go to Zweiten Cathedral before they met a dragon, the strongest monster dwelling in Zauberberg. However, a mysterious girl arrived and tamed the dragon.

She warned Sensei, Annette, and Tama to leave the area since dangerous monsters were lurking. However, when she learned that Osamu Dazai aka Sensei was an other-worlder, she revealed her murderous aura. She introduced herself as Waldelia, the dark lord, who loathed "other worlders" more than anything.

It was at this point No Longer Allowed in Another World Episode 3 reached its peak because it set a confrontation between two characters who wanted the same thing: Waldelia wanted to eliminate Osamu Dazai, something the latter desired throughout his life.

Even though the Dark Lord pierced Dazai and left him in a grave state, Sensei's words of wisdom shook her. She realized that Osamu Dazai wasn't an ordinary "Other worlder." Eventually, Sensei was saved, as Annette's familiar brought him and others to the Zweiten Cathedral.

The latter half of the episode focused on the narrative centered around the "other worlders." No Longer Allowed in Another World Episode 3 revealed that adventurers summoned from the other worlds usually bask in glory, forgetting their actual purpose.

In other words, Hiroshi Noda's narrative for the series subverts the traditional Isekai norm, where a "Hero" is looked upon as a benevolent figure. Instead, the adventurers are shown as corrupted beings, who revel in showcasing their powers.

No Longer Allowed in Another World Episode 3 also questioned Osamu Dazai's purpose in the narrative. It was shockingly revealed that an adventurer had eliminated the Wrath Lord.

The episode subtly implied that Waldelia was the daughter of the Wrath Lord who sought revenge against the other worlders for killing his family. However, with the actual Dark Lord gone, why would Sensei be summoned to Zauberberg? It was at this point, the narrative saw a few adventurers stamping their authority over the locals.

They wanted to rule over them, considering their an adventurer brought peace to the land. As mentioned previously, the narrative showed the adventurers in a villainous light.

Therefore, it's possible Sensei was summoned to the land not to defeat the Dark Lord, but for a different purpose. Maybe he was brought in to do something about the other worlders.

In terms of animation, No Longer Allowed in Another World Episode 3 did a better job than the previous installment. AtelierPontdarc dexterously brought alive the iconic moments from Hiroshi Noda's manga to animated form, from Waldelia's fury to the Dragon's wrath.

Moreover, the scene featuring the mysterious other worlder ending the Wrath Lord's life was impressive in terms of animation and art quality. Additionally, the final scene, where Osamu Dazai looks around the burning houses and street showed the animation prowess of the esteemed studio.

Coming to voice acting, Hiroshi Kamiya has done a fabulous job of portraying Osamu Dazai's character. The voice actor meticulously delivered the dialogue in a somber and melancholic note to highlight Sensei's nature.

Aoi Yuuki's performance as Waldelia was commendable, especially with the way she delivered the Dark Lord's angst. Moreover, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, the renowned voice actor's impressive performance as Kotaro (an other worlder), is noteworthy.
