Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 270 is set to be released on September 23, 2024, but the spoilers for the chapter are already out, and Sukuna's absence has affected the series in more than one way. The chapter diverted from its 'serious' tone to a much more joyful one after the demise of the main antagonist as the sorcerers continued living their day-to-day lives.

While the chapter hinted at the return of Kenjaku through a character with a similar hairstyle but an unrevealed face, the fandom already missed the King of Curses. One X user (@miyayamsotoQ) even said that the absence of the King of Curses made the series feel like a "bitter meal without any seasoning," something the other part of the fandom agreed on.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 270 spoilers finally shifted from the battlefield to the Jujutsu Tech. They focused on the sorcerers returning to their everyday lives, wrapping up the mess the King of Curses caused. While Megumi and Shoko visited the grave of Yuki Tsukumo, paying their respects, Utahime and some Jujutsu Tech officials were examining the remains of Tengen.

The spoilers also showcased the 'supposed' return of Kenjaku through a scene where Takaba was talking to someone similar to the Jujutsu Kaisen antagonist. The overall vibe of the series seems to have changed as everyone was now attentive to their everyday lives.

However, the fandom could feel the absence of a particular sorcerer. However, it wasn't Gojo Satoru, whom the fandom has continuously requested the author to bring back. This time, it was the final antagonist of the series, Ryomen Sukuna, who died in the last few chapters at the hands of the protagonist, Itadori Yuji.

The King of Curses was why the series had suspense. He defeated any sorcerer who challenged him, and this intrigued the fandom's imagination as to who could be the sorcerer that would beat him in the future.

As expected, Itadori was the one who delivered the last blow on the King of Curses, even though his defeat was a combined effort from a lot of sorcerers. However, now that the series lacks an antagonist, the fandom feels like Jujutsu Kaisen has become bland, like a dish without any seasoning.

Sukuna, as the final antagonist of the series

The King of Curses was introduced in the first chapter/episode of the series as a reawakened cursed spirit that used to be a sorcerer in the past. The King of Curses awakened inside Itadori Yuji and wanted to become the strongest sorcerer yet again, but he was challenged by the strongest sorcerer of that time, Gojo Satoru.

Even though the antagonist challenged Gojo several times, their battle wasn't possible until the antagonist changed hosts to Fushigoro Megumi, and their battle, titled the Battle of the Strongest, happened during the Shinjuku Showdown arc.

After a heated battle, Sukuna caught Gojo off guard and sliced him in half, killing the strongest sorcerer. This was the start of the roulette wheel, where everyone who challenged the King of Curses faced defeat, and Sukuna became the plot device of the series.
