My Hero Academia season 7 episode 20 was released on October 5, 2024, and it could be considered the highlight episode of this season because of its choreography and storytelling. Where Toga grabbed the spotlight through the origins, Uraraka's part in the episode was ignored, even though she was the reason behind the villain's turning over to a new page.

To the surprise of some fans, this was Uraraka's personality from the very start. She was becoming a hero to help her family. Moreover, she could often be seen encouraging others, just like her interaction with Deku about becoming a hero. Her interaction with Toga was just a reminder that she could be the kindest character of the series, outclassing Deku in this regard.

Why Uraraka might be the kindest character of My Hero Academia?

Ochoco Uraraka is one of the supporting characters of My Hero Academia and one of the first friends the protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, made in the U.A. High School. Her first appearance was during the Entrance Exam test which she nailed using her quirk, Zero Gravity.

This quirk allowed her to negate gravity on anything she touched and this quirk helped her pass the exams. However, the end of the exams featured a giant robot and Uraraka was about to come under it until Deku made an entrance and saved. As he was about to fall, Uraraka used her quirk to save him, despite her being at her limit.

Later in the series, it was revealed that Uraraka belonged to a family that wasn't as well off as the other students. So, she was striving to become a top hero so that she could give her family some rest. This made it obvious that she was one of the kindest characters in the series.

As everyone was returning home after the first day, Izuku encountered Uraraka and she teased the topic of the name, Deku, Bakugo used to call him. Upon saying that this gave her the vibes to never give up, Izuku's spirits were raised, meaning Uraraka helped him get over a trauma.

However, Toga's kindness was showcased at its peak in the Pro Hero's interaction with Himiko Toga. On their first appearances, both girls realized that they were similar (as both were in love with the same person and had rough backgrounds). However, Uraraka never let her background overcome her kindness and pursued Toga until they talked about her.

Their talk was delayed until the Final War arc of My Hero Academia where Uraraka, despite losing a fatal amount of blood, talked out about her feelings and gave Toga the satisfaction that she was indeed a cute and innocent girl. So, Uraraka sacrificing her life for someone else proved that she was indeed the kindest character in My Hero Academia.

Final thoughts

Deku is also one of the kindest characters in the series but he never got to risk his life for someone else, hence making Uraraka the kindest one. Deku's sacrifice for Shigaraki's well-being as showcased in the past and in the Final War arc, is also commendable but Uraraka's sacrifice to see Toga happy once in her life was something else.
