One Piece chapter 1120 spoilers: Another Vegapunk seemingly dies as Emeth and the Gorosei fight

One Piece chapter 1120 spoilers were expected to finally bring an end to the setup for the Straw Hats’ escape from Egghead Island by seeing the Thousand Sunny launch. Officially released earlier this week, the alleged spoilers for the upcoming issue excitingly showed just that happening, but not quite how fans expected.

One Piece chapter 1120 spoilers also continued to drive home the idea that the Gorosei can be injured under the right conditions and attacks, which is shown in two ways in the issue. The alleged spoilers also see Luffy and Emeth have a brief conversation, providing a clue in the process which may help decipher exactly who, or what, Emeth is.

One Piece chapter 1120 spoilers begin with the issue’s title, which is “Atlas” and references Vegapunk Atlas, who seemingly sacrifices herself in this issue for the Straw Hats. The spoilers then address the issue’s cover, which continues the Yamato cover story by seeing Denjirou, now confirmed as the new Daimyo of Kibi, catching the kids who hurt Yamato in a net.

Beginning its story content, spoilers claim the issue starts with a flashback to 26 years prior at Punk Hazard. Fans also get to see the island’s lush greenery here prior to the explosion and other events detailed in the Punk Hazard arc. Dr. Vegapunk, with his two dragons, is seen speaking with Professor Clover at the entrance to a lab.

One Piece chapter 1120 spoilers claim Clover begs Dr. Vegapunk to help with Void Century research, but Vegapunk refuses on the grounds of now being a Government man. He also asserts that the only reason Clover is free right now is so the World Government can track him and his associates, eliminating them all when the time is right.

Clover then reveals that his brother, who bore the name D., was killed right before his eyes once. Clover reveals his full, real name as Claíomh D. Clover, and explains that he lied about his brother just being his friend in order to survive. Unfortunately, Dr. Vegapunk still refuses to help, but adds he’ll forget what Clover just said. As he walks inside, Clover shouts to him that he’ll solve it, and that he hears a voice coming from the past.

One Piece chapter 1120 spoilers then jump ahead in time four years from this flashback, or 22 years prior to the start of the series. Dr. Vegapunk and Caesar Clown are seen hearing about Ohara’s destruction, inspiring the former to go visit. This scene takes place just before the flashback seen with Dragon appearing in Ohara. Dr. Vegapunk is seen crying in front of Ohara’s lake while looking at a young Nico Robin’s wanted poster.

Dr. Vegapunk questions why they died to save a pile of books, and who would be foolish enough to risk their life to carry on their own research. Fittingly, the return to contemporary events begins with Dr. Vegapunk’s message continuing, as Zeff and Patty at the Baratie are seen listening, as are prisoners and guards at Tequila Wolf. Robin is seen crying and extremely moved as she listens to Dr. Vegapunk’s message, hiding her tears with her hand.

One Piece chapter 1120 spoilers see Dr. Vegapunk discuss how history is written by the victors, but he’s determined some of the buried truths from the voices of the sunken losers and relayed them today. He prays his message has been broadcast safely thus far as focus shifts to the Labo-Phase, where Zoro and Jinbe are now on the Thousand Sunny. However, Gorosei member Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro is still pursuing them.

Vegapunk Lilith says they can’t take off, since an attack from Nusjuro on them while they’re in the air will reduce their speed to the point of not reaching the sea. However, Atlas then suddenly appears, punching Lilith into unconsciousness and turning off a device on her head. York notices this, confirming that Lilith’s signal is gone.

One Piece chapter 1120 spoilers see Atlas tell Nami and the others to take care of Lilith while she eliminates their obstacle. She then flies at and grabs Nusjuro, even after he slices off one of her arms. Using her DOM Shoes and jet pack, she pushes Nusjuro out of the Thousand Sunny’s way, allowing it to finally take off using the Coup de Burst.

Focus then shifts to Egghead’s northeastern shore, where Emeth speaks to Luffy as though he’s Joy Boy. This confuses Luffy, which Emeth finds funny as he tells Luffy to go on ahead as he fights, since Joy Boy’s enemies are his enemies. Luffy is amazed that Emeth can talk, while the Iron Giant continues to say he’ll protect Joy Boy when he’s in danger.

One Piece chapter 1120 spoilers see Dorry order the crew to set sail, while Brogy asks if Emeth is with them. Luffy explains Emeth’s words to Brogy, but Brogy says he didn’t hear a thing, seemingly confirming that Luffy communicated with Emeth via the Voice of All Things. Focus then shifts to the Gorosei, who begin fighting Emeth. The Ancient Robot raises his arm and tries to fire an attack, but it doesn’t come out due to poor maintenance on his body.

This gives Gorosei member Saint Shepherd Ju Peter the opportunity to bite off part of Emeth’s body, including a full arm. Emeth uses its other arm to hold Ju Peter back, but this allows Gorosei member Saint Jaygarcia Saturn to jump onto Ju Peter and then onto Elbaf’s ship. He looks at Bartholomew Kuma and Jewelry Bonney as focus shifts back to the Thousand Sunny.

One Piece chapter 1120 spoilers see Sanji notice the Sunny flying, while Nusjuro slashes at Atlas and says he didn’t expect such a sacrifice. Atlas calls it a service instead before blowing herself up, which leads to half of Nusjuro’s face being “blown off.” In turn, this seemingly confirms that, with enough strength or the right type of power, the Gorosei can indeed be injured.

A double spread concludes the chapter, with different scenes appearing while Dr. Vegapunk’s message rings out. Dr. Vegapunk discusses how he wishes he had more time to do his research, but there are some on the way to the truth who can’t be stopped. He then discusses Gol D. Roger’s incredible feat from 25 years prior, revealing to the world that Gold Roger’s true name is actually Gol D. Roger.

One Piece chapter 1120 spoilers see him continue that they, the Roger Pirates, must have already heard the unaltered voice of the past. He then says that while he’s sure they’ve all noticed it too, he believes that the future of the world will see someone repeat this feat and reveal the truth.

As this all plays out, the Straw Hats on the Sunny are seen celebrating their escape while Usopp and Chopper cry for Atlas, saying she can’t just do that. York, meanwhile, confirms the disappearance of Atlas’ signal, saying she’s the only Vegapunk left. However, Nusjuro, Saturn, and Ju Peter all dispute thus, with Gorosei member Saint Topamn Warcury saying they’ll put an end to the yapping Stella immediately.

One Piece chapter 1120 spoilers see Ju Peter and Warcury charge at Emeth together, trying to destroy it and stop the broadcast. As smoke billows out of Emeth, it thinks that it’s rotten, but this is the “right time” which Joy Boy talking about, saying he’ll “use it now.” The final panel of the issue cuts to Impel Down, where several prisoners listening to the broadcast are discussing the reveal of Roger’s true name.
