Although One Piece chapter 1122 is set to be released on August 5, 2024, its raw scans have already been released, and the final phase of the series could have started due to a hidden detail most fans failed to notice. The detail was regarding the first pirate of the Grand Line whose attire indicated that he could also have an eyepatch on one of his eyes.
Almost a decade ago, the author said that he would draw a character with an eyepatch as he never draws an eyepatch on any of his characters. The silhouette of JoyBoy in the latest chapter showed him with a peg leg and a hook arm, features true to stereotypical pirates. So, considering he had these features in the chapter, he could also be the pirate with an eyepatch.

One Piece chapter 1122: Exploring why JoyBoy could be the pirate with an eye-patch
According to the raw scans, One Piece chapter 1122 would mostly be centered around the relationship between Emeth (the Iron Giant) and JoyBoy. Although the chapter didn't showcase JoyBoy's true face, it did show some silhouettes of him.
After the Gorosei tried to attack the Straw Hat Pirates, Emeth released a Haki attack that could be felt all around the world, even in the Holy Lands of Mariejois where Imu fell to the ground. This Haki belonged to JoyBoy who sealed it inside Emeth in case he needed it to save someone.
While the flashback played where JoyBoy explained to Emeth about his overpowered Haki, JoyBoy's detailed silhouette was also showcased, which showed that he had a hook arm, a prosthetic limb that is a hook, and a peg leg, a prosthetic limb that is a stick.
These characteristics belong to the stereotypical pirates that exist in every other media other than One Piece. This detail in One Piece chapter 1122 was also the first time the author drew a pirate differently than he normally does.

Moreover, the surprising thing in all this is that considering JoyBoy had all these physical attributes, he could also have an eye patch, which is the most iconic characteristic of a pirate that exists in every media, be it in cartoons or movies.
This could make JoyBoy the personality Eiichiro Oda, the author of One Piece, has also been excited to draw. In 2007, Eiichiro Oda made a statement that he was excited to draw a pirate with an eye patch who would appear in the final phase (not specified arc or saga). He also added that this look is stereotypical of a pirate, but his manga doesn't have any pirates like this.
JoyBoy being the eye patch pirate would also make sense because he was the first pirate of the Grand Line who started everything, be it seeking freedom from the 20 families (later known as the World Government) or encouraging others never to yield before someone and sacrifice their dreams.
