One Piece chapter 1123 raw scans: Straw Hats escape Egghead as Dr. Vegapunk’s plan is revealed

The One Piece chapter 1123 raw scans came out recently, so fans now have more insights into what happened in Egghead ahead of the Straw Hats' arrival. This chapter is being eagerly awaited, as the manga is returning after a one-week break. Previously, fans had seen how the battle against the Gorosei was won and how this was made possible by Joy Boy.

The earliest One Piece chapter 1123 raw scan to be leaked consisted of a panel showing Luffy, no longer in his Gear 5 form, and appearing wrinkled once more, resting on Nami’s lap. But, as has already been established in the brief spoilers, also released recently, this installment consists primarily of flashbacks. The raw scans also confirm that there will be no break next week.

The One Piece 1123 raw scans begin with the issue’s cover page, where Yamato and Denjiro are seen sharing a meal and bonding with the children who had previously thrown rocks at Yamato.

The chapter properly begins with the aftermath of Joy Boy's Haki, where all the Marines on Egghead are knocked out. The only one still conscious is S-Snake, who is trapped in a bubble and trying to wake the others.

Dorry, observing the island through binoculars from the Giant Warrior Pirates' ship, relays this news to Broggy and Luffy, who all seem pleased. Luffy then shouts something to Emeth, but there is no response. As they prepare to leave for their next destination, everyone appears happy and satisfied.

Bonney has transformed back into a child and is sleeping peacefully, while Luffy, looking wrinkled and with his tongue out, rests on Nami's lap. Sanji, however, stands in front of Vegapunk's body with a grim expression on his face.

The One Piece chapter 1123 raw scans then begin a flashback, where Vegapunk, Shaka, and Pythagorus are seen having an intense discussion in the laboratory. Vegapunk appears very stressed. This is followed by a brief conversation between Vegapunk and York in front of the iron giant, and then another series of discussions between Vegapunk, Shaka, and Pythagorus.

From the One Piece chapter 1123 spoilers, it is revealed that this took place two weeks ago when they discovered an anomaly in the power station, suggesting that someone had tampered with the Mother Flame to steal an insane amount of its energy. Vegapunk immediately suspected Lilith, but Shaka pointed out that aside from the three of them in the lab, everyone else was a suspect. They decided not to upload their memories regarding this finding to the records.

A week later, Pythagorus discovered that it was York who had been tampering with the surveillance snails and uploading fake memories. She had also deployed the Sea Beasts without authorization and used a white jamming transponder snail. Vegapunk reconstructed York's call data and found out that she had contacted Mary Geoise to inform them that Vegapunk was researching the Void Century.

Six days ago, after the annihilation of Lulusia, Vegapunk began to suspect that the World Government possessed an Ancient Weapon which had been fueled by the stolen portion of the Mother Flame, which had been shipped to them by the Sea Beast. Vegapunk deeply regretted personifying his greed.

However, Vegapunk saw no point in either running away or apprehending York. Instead, he tried to think of ways to mitigate the damage. One of his ideas was to safeguard the island cloud-making machine, which could be useful in saving humanity when the world sinks due to rising sea levels.

Next, as per One Piece chapter 1123 raw scans, while Vegapunk was presumably making preparations for his broadcast, York approached him and asked what he was up to. He told her that he hoped to soon find a way to perfect the Mother Flame and power the iron giant robot, although he secretly hoped that this would never come to pass.

Two days ago, Vegapunk recorded his message and hid it inside Emeth. Following this, they decided to erase their memories so that they would not act suspiciously and give themselves away. Although this meant they would have to go through the shock of discovering York's betrayal and the horror of realizing their lives were in danger all over again.

After his memories were wiped, Vegapunk found a message he had written to himself explaining that the World Government had discovered their research but that all necessary precautions had been taken. It was asked of him to put his faith and be prepared to die. The message also said that the Straw Hats and Bonney were on the island and that Cipher Pol and an armada led by Admiral Kizaru were on their way, along with Saturn.

According to the spoilers, Vegapunk expressed his wish to be allowed to die on the island, as this would trigger an important event. More importantly, he conveyed his hope that the Straw Hats will be the ones to find the One Piece.
