One Piece chapter 1123: Sanji shoulders another burden as Dr. Vegapunk plans around his death

One Piece chapter 1123 was expected to reveal the situation after Joy Boy's Conqueror Haki blast on the Egghead Island. Moreover, the chapter was also expected to reveal whether the Straw Hat Pirates had escaped Egghead Island. Fortunately, the chapter revealed everything it was expected to reveal and also put a spotlight on Sanji after a very long time.

The chapter, released on August 18, 2024, proved that Joy Boy's Conqueror's Haki might be the strongest one revealed yet as it was able to knock out the entirety of the Marine Corps, including the Vice Admirals. One Piece chapter 1123, titled The Void Fortnight, commenced with a glimpse from different parts of Egghead Island where all of the Marine officers were lying on the ground fainted. Moreover, even the Vice Admirals were not spared, which proved that the intensity of the Conqueror's Haki of the first pirate was no joke. Amidst all this, the Seraphims tried to wake up the fainted Marine officers.

On the other hand, the Giants discussed how lethal the Haki blast was and how they didn't feel any animosity towards them from it. Moreover, Dorry even claimed that this Conqueror's Haki could be greater than that of Red Hair Shanks. Luffy was seen thanking Emet from far away, but the Ancient Iron Giant had already reached its limit and was turned off.

Taking advantage of the situation, the Giants declared that it was high time for them to be on their way towards Elbaf Island. Bonney returned to her kid form, Luffy's body started facing the aftereffects of Gear 5 and deflated, and everyone else relaxed except Sanji, who was gazing at Vegapunk's corpse.

One Piece chapter 1123 saw Sanji close in on Vegapunk's corpse and ask him what all of this sequence of events was. He also showed confusion over Vegapunk's words regarding his death, after which the chapter shifted to a flashback from 2 weeks.

Vegapunk Shaka revealed to Vegapunk Stella and Vegapunk Pythagoras about the tampering of the energy readings of Mother Flame. Shaka revealed that every reading associated with the energy source was finely modified, hinting that it could be done by one of the Vegapunks. Stella immediately put Vegapunk Lilith on the cutting board as she represented 'evil.'

These three avoided jumping to a baseless conclusion and studied the behavior of the other four satellites by cutting their links from Punk Record. However, Stella was adamant that Lilith was responsible for this traitorous act. After one week, Vegapunk Pythagoras made the shocking reveal of York being the one behind the tampering of Mother Flame's readings, shocking Shaka and Stella.

Pythagoras revealed that York's memories, which are synced with Punk Hazard, were also fake. Stella questioned York's acts but he also apologized to Lilith for blaming her without any evidence. This led to the Vegapunks discovering tampering in other sectors, thus leading to them doing a detailed investigation by listening to the Transponder Snails for starters.

The voice recording revealed how York told the Five Elders about the Mother Flame, increasing the frustration of Stella. Stella then deduced how the increasing sea levels could also be released to the sealing of the Mother Flame. The ultimate conclusion behind it is that Stella was ready to sacrifice himself after letting the world know about the 'truth of the world.'

The three Vegapunks then started their plan as Stella hid the Transmission Transponder Snail inside Emet. Unfortunately, York arrived there and started questioning Stella but he kept his calm. The three Vegapunks then recorded the 'truth of the world' message and erased their memory with Vegapunk leaving a note on himself which stated that he should believe in himself and die.

After waking up, the three Vegapunks were shocked to read the message but recognized it as a genuine prediction. The chapter then shifted to the time when Vegapunk accompanied the Straw Hat Pirates and revealed to Sanji how his death would set something crucial into motion.

Sanji couldn't understand what Vegapunk was saying and rebelled against his sacrifice saying the Straw Hat Pirates would look for a way to save him. One Piece chapter 1123 ended with Vegapunk stating he wanted the Straw Hat Pirates to find One Piece as the Elbaf Giants celebrated their reunion with the Straw Hat Pirates.

Although One Piece chapter 1123 was not jam-packed with action like the previous few chapters, it was still entertaining one of how much information it revealed that connected the loose threads surrounding the past events.

Unfortunately, Sanji had to bear the burden of Vegapunk's death because he was the only one who knew about Vegapunk's actions and he cannot share this burden with anyone else because believing him would be hard.
