One Piece Chapter 1123 began with confirmation that all Marines on Egghead, including the Vice Admirals, had fainted from Joy Boy’s Conqueror’s Haki. Luffy thanked Emeth as he and the others sailed away, but the deceased robot didn’t respond. Dorry and Brogy comment on Joy Boy’s Conqueror’s Haki possibly being stronger than even Shanks’. While the others celebrate, Sanji stands alone while looking at Dr. Vegapunk’s dead body.

This prompts a flashback to begin, revealing that Shaka, Pythagoras, and Dr. Vegapunk discovered the traitor two weeks ago. They initially thought it was Lilith, but eventually realized it was York after doing some secret investigating. The next day, the Lulusia Kingdom incident happened, leading the trio to believe they were already dead. Thus, they made the preparations for Dr. Vegapunk’s plan, such as recording the video and so on.

However, after doing so, they erased their memories to hide their discovery from York. When Dr. Vegapunk awoke, he found a note from himself which said they already prepared a countermeasure and to believe in himself and die. Jumping ahead, Dr. Vegapunk forces Sanji to let him die on the battlefield despite his feelings. As the issue ended, it revealed that Dr. Vegapunk told Sanji he wanted them to find the One Piece while the others celebrated going to Elbaf.

With the Egghead arc all but officially concluded heading into One Piece chapter 1124, the upcoming release is all but guaranteed to continue wrapping up the arc’s events and story. This will likely be done with a shift in focus to Imu and the Gorosei, who certainly have plenty to discuss after their failure at Egghead Island.

A focus on the Revolutionary Army is also likely, with Monkey D. Dragon and his group likely planning to take advantage of the distrust of the World Government Dr. Vegapunk sewed. At the same time, this will likely be balanced with a focus on Garling Figarland and the Holy Knights, who’ll likely set their eyes on the Straw Hats following the Egghead Incident.
