One Piece chapter 1125 was expected to continue the wrap-up portion of the Egghead arc, specifically with a focus on the fallout for Imu and the Gorosei from the Egghead Incident. Officially released earlier this weekend, the installment did excitingly deal with exactly this, showing who received what punishment as a result of the World Government’s failure.
However, what fans weren’t expecting was One Piece chapter 1125 replacing Saint Jaygarcia Saturn with a new Gorosei member in the form of Saint Garling Figarland. Coincidentally, it seems that Monkey D. Dragon is also ready to begin making moves by the end of the very same issue in which Garling, leader of the Holy Knights, first makes his.
One Piece chapter 1125 all but concludes the Egghead arc as Elbaf draws nearer over the horizon
One Piece chapter 1125: Failure
One Piece chapter 1125, titled What Constitutes Death, began with the issue’s cover story, which served as the continuation of Yamato’s pilgrimage around Wano. In this installment, they’re visiting the former Oden Castle as it’s being rebuilt, but lead carpenter Minatomo is missing. Beginning its story content, the issue opens first with Marines deciding to take the Seraphim with them once they’re charged.
Rob Lucci and Kaku are then seen boarding a ship, reporting Stussy as killed in action when asked about her. Saint Jaygarcia Saturn, meanwhile, is speaking with the nine Vice Admirals about how they obtained everything they set out for but had a critical failure. The Vice Admirals apologize and ask to pursue Luffy and co to Elbaf, but he rejects this, saying the failure he’s referring to is far greater.
One Piece chapter 1125 sees him explain it as Dr. Vegapunk’s message getting out, and the Iron Giant Emeth aiding in Luffy and co’s escape. This prompts a flashback to 200 years prior, showing the aftermath of Emeth’s attempted attack on Mariejois. It shows Saturn himself to be the one ordering a group of scientists to ignore the orders to scrap it, and instead study it. He even says it’s the future and will prove to be a great military asset one day.
In the present, Saturn laments that Emeth ended up aiding Luffy in the end, while Vice Admiral Doberman asks Saturn if the words in Dr. Vegapunk’s message are true. In response, he blows up the Vice Admiral’s head with the same strange powers he used to do so to Sanji and others earlier in the arc. As the other Vice Admirals present scramble to get him medical attention, the focus shifts to Egghead’s Labophase.
One Piece chapter 1125 reveals that the cloud factory is making clouds and can’t be stopped, revealed to be the final part of Vegapunk Edison’s plan. York tries to blow up the cloud factory to stop it, but this ends up freeing Punk Records from the Labophase, causing it to float high into the skies above Egghead Island. Focus then shifts once more to Mariejois, where some Celestial Dragons are discussing Dr. Vegapunk’s message.
Others are seen complaining about the food shortages and what they’re being asked to eat or sacrifice, proving that Monkey D. Dragon and the Revolutionary Army’s mission was a success. In Pangaea Castle’s Room of Authority, Saint Garling Figarland, the leader of the Holy Knights, approaches the Gorosei while wearing the same style of suit as they do.
One Piece chapter 1125: Punishment
One Piece chapter 1125 sees them ask Garling what he’s doing here, to which he says new orders have been bestowed upon him. He then informs them that Vegapunk York is now under his supervision since he’s now the new Warrior God of Science and Defense. As he’s formally introduced as such, he comments on how the world is heading for turmoil, and that they should all work together to better the world.
Meanwhile, on Egghead’s shores, black flames are now surrounding and pouring out of Saturn as he screams out in pain. The Vice Admirals scramble to think of what to do, while Saturn’s body ages and his skin becomes like that of a mummy. Imu then contacts Saturn telepathically, telling him that this is happening because Joy Boy was behind Luffy and co’s escape, and he let it happen.
One Piece chapter 1125 sees Saturn beg for forgiveness, but to no avail, as a giant blast of black flames consumes what’s left of him and leaves nothing but a skeleton behind. The focus then shifts once more to Punk Records, where it’s revealed that Vegapunks Shaka, Edison, Atlas, and Pythagoras are all still alive. They discuss their current situation, the plan to keep Punk Records safe until the day all of humanity can access it, and what their next move is.
Their new body is also revealed, made up of Shaka’s body and legs, Edison’s head, Atlas’ left arm, and Pythagoras’ right arm. They’re seen walking down a hallway of spare Vegapunk Satellite body parts, commenting on how they should get rid of the York parts, before contacting Haredas in Weatheria.
One Piece chapter 11125 then shifts focus for one final time to the Kamabakka Queendom, where Koala is recapping Dr. Vegapunk’s message with other Revolutionary Army members. Emporio Ivankov also points out that the world sinking explains why the World Government has spent the last 700 years having slaves build giant structures at Tequila Wolf, Vodka Wolf, Rum Wolf, and Bourbon Wolf.
The commanders of the Revolutionary Army, however, are discussing the fact that everything is falling into place for them. It’s then revealed that Monkey D. Dragon feels the same, as the focus shifts to him on a beach musing on Dr. Vegapunk’s words. He says now is the time to secure victory while they can still save the world as the issue ends.
One Piece chapter 1125: In summation
One Piece chapter 1125 sees several major shake-ups in the series’ world, including Punk Records being lost, Saturn’s death, Garling’s promotion, and Dragon and co making their move. Likewise, the issue also wraps up all major loose ends from the Egghead arc.
While fans can expect a few smaller plot points to be wrapped up before Elbaf officially begins, it’s likely that only a few chapters separate fans from the start of the highly anticipated arc.
