One Piece Chapter 1126 was expected to formally conclude the Egghead arc and begin the Elbaf arc, especially following the focus on the Gorosei and others in the previous issue. Officially released earlier this weekend, the latest installment from mangaka Eiichiro Oda’s series still spent a majority of its time on wrapup for the Egghead arc.

However, One Piece Chapter 1126’s final panels do seemingly set up the start of the Egghead arc via the disappearance of Monkey D. Luffy, Nami, and other Straw Hats. This is preceded by a focus on the Blackbeard Pirates, as well as an update on what Shanks is getting up to following his decisive victory over Eustass Kid.

One Piece Chapter 1126 sees Shanks exact revenge against Bartolomeo for a cover story crime

One Piece Chapter 1126: Dreams achieved and crews crushed

One Piece Chapter 1126, titled “Taking Responsibility,” begins with the issue’s cover story, continuing Yamato’s pilgrimage across Wano. They’re seen eating at a Soba shop, and speaking with Osome, the girl whom Sanji saved from Queen during the Onigashima Raid, who is working at the shop. She’s telling Yamato that some girls have gone missing in the area as of late.

Focus then shifts to the Giant Warrior Pirates’ ship, where Oimo and Kashii explain that they visited Little Garden after the Water 7 saga’s events. After finding Dorry and Brogy fighting barehanded, they suggested the pair return to Elbaf for new weapons to continue their duel. Nami then asks if they actually plan to continue their duel, which they confirm. Sche scoffs at this, prompting the others to ridicule her for not learning anything from Little Garden.

One Piece Chapter 1126 then peculiarly specifies that the drink everyone was indulging in, a type of absinthe known as “The Green Fairy,” is known to cause hallucinations. Shots of both crews celebrating then played out, as well as a scene of Jewelry Bonney sitting in a smiling Bartholomew Kuma’s lap. Bonney commented on how they finally got to reach the horizon together as they stared out at it, separated from the party.

Focus then shifts to Gartel Island, where Bartolomeo had burned Shanks’ flag as seen in a previous cover story (which took place one month ago in-series). Shanks is then seen with Bartolomeo captured in front of him, lecturing about how he can’t let this go. Bartolomeo agrees and apologizes, prompting Hongo (the Red Hair Pirates’ doctor) to give him a vial of poison while ordering him to have Luffy drink it within a month.

One Piece Chapter 1126 spoilers see Hongo confirm it will kill Luffy, adding that Bartolomeo’s boss should take responsibility. However, he grabs the vial out of Hongo’s hand with his mouth and immediately drinks it. He then explains how Luffy never asked him to take up the Straw Hat flag, and thus he won’t get Luffy involved in his own mess. He then laments not being able to see Luffy become the Pirate King as he waits for a death which doesn’t come.

Bartolomeo and his crew are then seen sailing away, commenting on how Shanks was kinder than they expected. Shanks, meanwhile, is smiling about Luffy having such loyal followers. However, Yasopp then asks Shanks to move out of the way, shooting Bartolomeo’s ship and exploding it after. The narrator specifies that it’s unknown if anyone survived as the ship is shown to be in splinters after the attack.

One Piece Chapter 1126: New schemes and surroundings

One Piece Chapter 1126 then shifts focus to Hachinosu Island, where Blackbeard has finally returned. In the skull fortress, he was seen yelling at Avalo Pizarro for letting Koby and Gecko Moria escape, especially in light of Dr. Vegapunk’s broadcast and the effect it’ll have. Several pirates on the island are then shown to be cheering Blackbeard on in the race for the One Piece, even willing to aid him.

Back at the Skull Fortress, all of Blackbeard’s captains save for Catarina Devon, Van Augur, and Laffitte are present. Marshall D. Teech himself comments on how morale is up, and they captured Monkey D. Garp in exchange for letting Koby go. Kuzan comments on how he was trying to kill Garp, but confirms that he survived in the end. Blackbeard compliments Kuzan none the less before calling Laffitte as it’s revealed Charlotte Pudding is also present.

One Piece Chapter 1126 then shifts focus to the Umit Shipping headquarters, with Umit being a king of the criminal underworld and shipping magnate who fans saw in the Whole Cake Island arc. Laffitte is seen reporting to Blackbeard on the Revolutionary Army’s actions, explaining how their siege efforts via sabotaging the gondolas are proving effective. He also confirms that supply shipments from foreign nations have also halted due to the broken gondolas.

Laffitte muses on how entertaining this is, but Blackbeard tells him to “get ready” for something which he doesn’t specify. Catarina Devon and Van Augur, as well as Caribou, then arrive at Hachinosu, being taken to the meeting directly thanks to Pizarro’s Devil Fruit powers. Focus then returns to the Giant Warrior Pirates and the Straw Hats, where the former crew’s ship is officially named as “The Great Eirik.”

One Piece Chapter 1126 reveals that two days have passed since leaving Egghead Island, and they still haven’t reached Elbaf. It’s then revealed that the Thousand Sunny has disappeared, with Nico Robin, Franky, Brook, and Jinbe being the only Straw Hats still present. They speculate on what happened as focus shifts once more.

The issue’s final page sees someone unknown calling out to Nami and telling her to wake up. She does so, revealing that she’s in a viking-like outfit, possibly inspired by Elbaf. The issue ends with her taking a look at her surroundings, revealing her to be in a house made of legos and also revealing a sword on her back. It’s also confirmed that there will be no break week for the series prior to the next issue’s release.

One Piece Chapter 1126: In summation

While it doesn’t quite start the Elbaf arc, One Piece Chapter 1126 is clearly ramping up into the start of it via the disappearance of Nami and the other Straw Hats. They also have the Thousand Sunny with them, presumably putting their Road Poneglyph rubbings at risk assuming they were stored on board.

Chapter 1126 also teases Blackbeard and his crew making moves against Monkey D. Dragon’s Revolutionary Army, especially with the emphasis on the Army’s actions. Likewise, it’s also confirmed that Monkey D. Garp has survived, possibly setting up a Garp rescue at some point in the final saga.
