One Piece chapter 1130 was expected to focus primarily on the Straw Hats as they clarified their surroundings following their escape from Road’s room-sized cage. Officially released earlier this weekend, the issue did indeed take this route, confirming that Luffy and the Alabasta crew are indeed in Elbaph.

One Piece chapter 1130 also finally introduced Prince Loki for the first time, revealing his character design as much different than his Whole Cake Island Arc silhouette. What was also different from fans’ expectations was the apparent role Loki will play in the arc, setting him up as an enemy rather than an ally.

One Piece chapter 1130: Elbaph at last

One Piece chapter 1130, titled The Accursed Prince, began with a focus on the issue’s cover story. Yamato and Otama were seen sleeping together, but as they slept, someone offscreen stole Shimotsuki Yasuie’s word from Yamato. Yasuie’s sword is the reason why Yamato went on this Wano pilgrimage in the first place.

Beginning its story content, the issue opened with a focus on the Giant Warrior Pirates and the Straw Hats still with them. Franky told Dorry, Brogy, and the other Giants to call off the search for Luffy and co, adding that they’re confident they’re alive and okay. The ship then set course for Elbaph once again as focus shifted to Luffy and the others.

After busting out of the LEGO kingdom and the building it was in, One Piece chapter 1130 revealed the crew was in a wintry climate. They were exiting a giant castle which looked very similar to the Bigstein Castle, situated atop a large mountain. Other large mountains and trees surrounded the castle. The castle also had a rope bridge which connected to the branch of a nearby giant tree.

As the group took in their surroundings, they realized two Giants were crossing the bridge. These were Gerd and Goldberg, the doctor and cook of Hajrudin’s New Giant Warrior Pirates. They discussed their distaste for Road and compared him to Prince Loki, whom Gerd called “the shame of Elbaph,” while also acknowledging Road’s exceptional navigational skills.

One Piece chapter 1130 then saw Gerd ask her owl, Piper, if it was sure it was Road’s crow Mugin carrying a small ship. This conversation revealed that Road kept “finding intruders” and arresting them in order to keep them in his LEGO kingdom. As Usopp and the others celebrated being in Elbaph (making the giant tree the rope bridge goes to Yggdrasil), Luffy tried calling out to the Giants, not understanding their situation.

Thankfully, they didn’t hear Luffy and the crew escaped their gaze unnoticed. As the crew traversed the massive bridge, they saw huge wolves in the forest below. Zoro then asked Luffy what was wrong, to which he said he felt something unsettling. This prompted him to jump down and explore, with Zoro attempting to follow but being stopped by Sanji.

One Piece chapter 1130: Prince Loki’s true nature

One Piece chapter 1130 then shifted focus back to the Giant Warrior Pirates group, where Dorry and Brogy discovered their bounties had gone up. For their alleged role in destroying Egghead Island alongside Luffy, they were each given bounties of 1.8 billion Beri. Everyone was shocked by their bounties going from 100 million to 1.8 billion, but Robin said the amount was reasonable given the time difference and their status as captains.

Robin also revealed that Luffy is being blamed for Dr. Vegapunk’s murder, which caused Vegapunk Lilith to laugh at this. However, the Straw Hats noticed that Luffy’s Gear 5 form now had an X on his arm. The group was unsure if this mark is normally there or not, with Robin also adding that it seems off given his arm is blurry, but the X is clear as day. She commented that it seems familiar as the others tell her not to worry.

One Piece chapter 1130 then saw Dorry bring up how Luffy is technically equal to Shanks as a Yonko. The other Giants then discussed Hajrudin being under their chain of command as well, also revealing him to be another Prince of Elbaph. They added that he wanted to go to Egghead himself to get the Straw Hats, but they had seniority.

The Giants also added that someone needed to keep an eye out for trouble in Elbaph, which they attributed to the second prince, called the “Accursed Prince,” hence the title. He apparently devoted himself to darkness, and was sentenced to crucifixion years ago. He tried to flee, but all of Elbaph’s warriors worked together to catch him. Jinbe seemingly knew who this was, but was interrupted by the Giants.

One Piece chapter 1130 saw them explain that he killed his father, King Harold, to possess a legendary Devil Fruit passed down in Elbaph’s royal family. They then confirmed that Loki was indeed who they were talking about, calling him the shame of Elbaph and saying his escape will mean the end of everything. Focus then shifted to Luffy happening upon a giant chained to a tree, seemingly being the source of the uneasy feeling he had.

The giant asked Luffy to state his name, prompting Luffy to introduce himself as the future Pirate King. The Giant introduced himself as Loki, adding that this is indeed Elbaph (with the chapter revealing the official spelling as Elbaph here) as the issue ended on a full view of the island. The giant Yggdrasil tree was in the center, featuring a middle layer of branches on which the Giants seem to live. A massive sword also ran through this middle layer to the ground below.

One Piece chapter 1130: Final thoughts

While chapter 1130 sadly announces a two-week break for the series, it at least gives fans plenty to ponder and be excited about in the interim. Most significant is the role Loki will play in the Elbaph Arc, as well as how powerful he is with the legendary Devil Fruit he possesses.
