One Piece chapter 1131, scheduled for release on November 10, 2024, will focus on the interaction between Loki and Luffy. Although the chapter hasn't been officially released, spoilers have emerged, along with renewed interest in Nico Robin's character. Nico Robin, a survivor of the Ohara massacre, is a key character in the series known for her ability to decipher poneglyphs.

Robin's character design has undergone considerable changes throughout the arcs, with her pre-timeskip appearance being one of the most beloved and iconic within the fandom. Alleged spoilers for chapter 1131 reveal Robin returning to her old look, which has become a major source of hope for fans. Many Robin fans refer to her new design as their "reason to live," especially since her character did not receive any focus in previous arcs.

One Piece: Robin returning to her pre timeskip look revitalized the fandom

Robin was one of the first few members recruited into the Straw Hat crew, preceding Franky, Brook, and Jinbe. Although she was introduced as an integral part of Crocodile's plans, her character suffered from a lack of exploration and new designs that were considered inferior to her original look, which featured completely straight hair and bangs covering her forehead.

The Elbaf arc, which will include the reunion between Robin and Saul, has surprisingly revealed Robin returning to her old look. This may also hint at a more engaging plot focusing on Robin's story and additional lore surrounding Ohara.

Fan reactions to Robin's new look

Many fans took the opportunity to praise Robin's return to her old look while reminiscing about how her original design has remained timeless and still looks appealing in the modern art style, even amidst the new character designs. Some fans interpreted her return to the old look as a parallel to her character arc, suggesting that she resolved her issues and reverted to her previous appearance to reunite with an old friend.

A few fans used this moment to criticize the current art style, which focused on more rounded edges compared to the sharp edges and lines used in the early chapters of One Piece that defined Nico Robin's initial appearance.

"One of the sweetest moments of the entire manga history. Seeing how Robin healed all her scars and how she returned to her old look to see her old friend again is priceless," one fan said.
"Pre-timeskip robin mogs this wanna be pre-timeskip robin sooo bad," another fan said.

Other fans viewed Robin's updated appearance as a sign and began wishing for Vivi to return to the story with her original ponytail design from the Alabasta arc. Many fans also hoped the story would focus more on Robin's role, as her character had been reduced to an uninvolved supporting role towards the end of the Wano arc and for most of the Egghead Island arc.

"Okay Oda now we have our Robin with bangs so it's time to bring us Vivi with her ponytail. I'm begging," one fan wrote.
"Oda brought back Robin’s pre ts design. Hopefully he can bring back Robin’s pre ts character along with this," another fan wrote.

One Piece chapter 1131 will be officially released on November 10, 2024, and will be available for reading on Shueisha's MANGA Plus platform. The chapter might shed light on Loki's imprisonment and the dynamic between Luffy and Loki, which will determine whether they will become friends or foes.
