One Piece chapter 1131 is set to be released on November 11, 2024. However, the raw scans for the chapter have already been revealed. Although the chapter was mostly focused on building the lore around Loki and how much of a powerhouse he is, some hints indicated an interesting detail that confirmed the presence of a villain who appeared in a filler movie.

During a talk with Luffy, Loki called out his old friends, who were large animals. All of these animals had already appeared in the Strong World anime film. Moreover, the Sea Beast that was swimming under the Great Erik and the monster Hajrudin caught were also present in the movie, hinting that Shiki might appear in Elbaph arc as a supporting antagonist.

Exploring the hints of One Piece Strong World in chapter 1131

Chapter 1131 showcases Luffy and Loki in their conversation as some colossal animals emerge from the nearby forest. These animals (including a polar bear, wolf, snake, mammoth, and gorilla) were Loki's old friends, as the Prince of Elbaph had befriended them in his childhood. As intimidating as they might be, Luffy befriended them immediately.

Surprisingly, these animals appeared in the One Piece Strong World 2009 anime film. All these animals were part of Shiki's army of beasts, which he had created using the SIQ formula to declare war against the world. Moreover, these animals appeared before the Straw Hat Pirates, standing inside the Flying Islands.

However, these animals weren't the only references to the anime movie in chapter 1131. A little distance away from Loki and Luffy were Hajrudin and Stansen, the New Giant Pirates. These two were celebrating the capture of a large beast they called a Moose (a combination of a reindeer and a dinosaur). As expected, this beast was also present in the Strong World anime film.

A giant sea beast swam its way under the ship in another part of the sea where the Great Eirik was sailing. A sea beast similar to this appeared in the anime film. All of these hints confirmed the canon status of Shiki, the Flying Pirate. Another interesting detail that could link to this theory might be how both Elbaph arc and Strong World started with Nami getting abducted.

Analysis and final thoughts

In the SBS section of volume 55, Eiichiro Oda confirmed that the Kinjishi (Golden Lion) that appeared in Strong World was the same as the Rocks Pirates member Shiki. However, this theory did again reconfirm that Shiki was indeed a canon character who appeared in a filler arc.

However, will he appear in the Elbaph arc to support Loki? Loki's future aims are yet to be revealed, and tying him to Shiki without knowing such key details might be jumping the gun. So, for now, Shiki might make a surprise entry on Elbaph Island and could even ally with Loki.
