One Piece chapter 1126 is set to be released on September 16, 2024, but the spoilers for the chapter have already been revealed. Although the most recent installment toned down the hype and returned its focus to the Straw Hat Pirates, things are getting interesting on Hachinose Island. A Vice-Admiral's life status was confirmed, adding to the intrigue.

Monkey D Garp, whose life status was shifted to 'unknown' after his battle against Kuzan, was seen alive but in an injured condition. His survival matched the fandom's expectations because, like Garp, Saul was confirmed alive during the Egghead Island arc. Although the series tried diverting the attention towards Sengoku and Smoker, Garp's survival was guaranteed.

One Piece: Why Garp being alive was expected from the fandom

After showing the Straw Hat Pirates' shenanigans on the Great Eirik (The Ship of the Giants), One Piece chapter 1126 spoilers shifted focus. The scene moved to Hachinose Island, where everyone was busy with repairs following the SWORD infiltration.

Moreover, Marshall D Teech had also returned after failing to steal Trafalgar D Law's devil fruit. Blackbeard vented his anger on Pizarro for letting Koby and Gecko Moria escape (revealing that the Thriller Bark Pirates' captain had escaped the claws of Blackbeard).

Afterward, Blackbeard turned his attention toward Kuzan, who had captured Monkey D. Garp, who was restrained with heavy chains and in an injured state. Kuzan revealed his intention to kill the Vice Admiral but Pizarro intervened, urging that things be resolved without drastic measures.

During the Egghead Island arc, different members of SWORD infiltrated the Hachinose Island to save Koby from the clutches of the Blackbeard Pirates.

The secret organization intentionally gathered the entire population of the island in the center so that Garp could strike them with his Galaxy Impact. Afterward, just as everyone was about to escape with Koby, Hibari was frozen by Kuzan, and their battle started.

As expected, Kuzan was overpowered by the Vice Admiral's sheer strength. However, with the unfair assistance of Shiryu, Kuzan gained the upper hand and froze Garp with his 'Ice Ball' technique.

With the spoilers for One Piece chapter 1126 confirming Garp's live status, Ice Ball seems similar to Ice Time Capsule, the attack used by Kuzan on Saul. During the Ohara Incident arc, as Nico Robin escaped, Kuzan froze Jaguar D Saul inside his 'Ice Time Capsule' technique.

This was merely a facade Kuzan had to maintain to deceive the World Government because, as revealed by Vegapunk Shaka during the Egghead arc, Saul was still alive somewhere on the Grand Line. Moreover, this was also anticipated by the fandom due to the events involving Saul and the fact that Garp's role in the series was far from being finished.

The manga attempted to divert attention from this by showing the former Fleet Admiral, Sengoku, worried about his friend's survival. Smoker was on his way to Garp's aid due to the connection between Tashigi and SWORD. In the end, the Vice Admiral survived.
