Episode 1062 recap
One Piece episode 1062 began with Zoro realizing that the flames on King’s back are directly related to his durability. When the flames are activated, King is hard to damage but moves slower, and when they’re deactivated, he’s faster but more susceptible to damage. Seeing a moment of opportunity, Zoro strikes with force at King, successfully destroying his mask.
This leads to King’s face being revealed for the very first time, with his comrades identifying his status as a Lunarian due to his facial features and characteristics. However, King incinerates them after they bring up the bounty for information on King’s kind. Zoro and King’s battle then continues, with King recognizing Zoro as dangerous and Zoro realizing he doesn't have much time left.
This begins a flashback which shows King and Kaido first meeting on Punk Hazard, where Kaido freed King from World Government experiments. The two then escaped together, with King revealing he joined Kaido because he considered him to be Joy Boy.
The fight then began its final moments, where Zoro used his new King of Hell technique to decisively end the battle, declaring he’ll even become the King of Hell to make Luffy the next Pirate King.
What to expect (speculative)
With the preview for One Piece episode 1063 highlighting several different characters and focuses, fans can expect the upcoming installment to serve as a breather for the series. While Luffy and Kaido can be seen in the episode, the upcoming release will likely not focus exclusively on them, especially with Law and Kid versus Big Mom still needing to wrap up.
However, the fact that the series might be taking a breather episode after two intense fights likely means that the installment after One Piece episode 1063 will again focus on combat. While fans are advocating for Luffy versus Kaido being up next, there is still the aforementioned Big Mom fight to address before going to the Wano arc’s main event.
