One Piece episode 1114 recap
One Piece episode 1114 began with a focus on Koby, who found himself surrounded by the Blackbeard Pirates. They were ready to shoot and kill him to collect the massive bounty Buggy’s Cross Guild had placed on his head. Thankfully, Hibari appeared just in time and used an invention from Dr. Vegapunk to transform their gunpowder into flowers. Prince Grus then used his clay golems to gather the Blackbeard Pirates into an open area.
Fellow SWORD member Kujaku then used her Devil Fruit powers to move the nearby buildings, blocking all possible exits for the pirates and likewise trapping them inside. Garp then made his entrance by launching his ship into the air, jumping off of it as it fell, and landing his massive Galaxy Impact Haki-infused punch to destroy the area. Grus then ensured Garp’s ship landed safely, while it was revealed most of the pirates were knocked out by Garp’s attack.
As SWORD reunited with Koby, Hibari was suddenly turned to ice by Kuzan. Koby thankfully caught her before she could fall and shatter to pieces. A brief flashback then played out, summarizing the events that led to Kuzan joining the Blackbeard Pirates. This then segued into when Kuzan first met Blackbeard, with Kuzan freezing some of his crew members out of anger after they confronted him at a bar looking for a fight.
One Piece episode 1115: What to expect? (speculative)
With Kuzan having made his presence on Hachinosu known, it’s almost assured that Garp will be fighting his former protege in One Piece episode 1115. While the matchups for the other SWORD members are unclear at this time, they may also take on some of the other officers of the Blackbeard Pirates currently on Hachinosu. Before all of this, however, the flashback that began at the end of the previous episode will likely finish in episode 1115’s opening scenes.
This episode should reveal exactly what offer Blackbeard made to Kuzan to convince him to join the Blackbeard Pirates. While revenge may seem likely, this doesn’t necessarily match Kuzan’s characterization thus far in the series. It’s possible Blackbeard knows of Imu and leveraged this information to convince Kuzan there’s a greater threat to the world than piracy.
