In this episode, viewers, alongside Dragon and Ivankov, listen to Sabo recount the events that took place during the Reverie at the Holy Land Mary Geoise. The Revolutionary Army has declared war on the World Government, but there seems to be more going on.

In the previous episode, it was revealed that Buggy’s Cross Guild, another anti-government group, had made a significant impact on the world. They gained support from many people who were earning bounties by killing Navy soldiers. Buggy's boldest move, however, was announcing his intention to join the race for the One Piece.

In One Piece episode 1117, Sabo informed Dragon and Ivankov that he had achieved his three main goals: declaring war by destroying the Celestial Dragons' symbol, freeing as many slaves as possible, including Kuma, and destroying the food reserves at Mary Geoise. Dragon acknowledged that these actions had drawn attention and inspired revolts in twelve countries, with eight of them succeeding.

Among these eight, the Kingdom of Lulusia has disappeared, but the remaining seven have stopped paying the Heavenly Offerings and exporting resources to the Government. Moreover, the Revolutionary Army has been actively preventing supplies from reaching Mary Geoise.

Despite their successes, Dragon expressed concern about the inevitable confrontation with the Holy Knights. He also mentioned that Sabo being blamed for Cobra's death had turned him into a hero for insurgents worldwide, even though Cobra was a just and generous king.

One Piece episode 1117 then showed the events taking place a month ago during the Reverie at Mary Geoise. After the food storage exploded, alarms went off as four captains of the Revolutionary Army infiltrated. Karasu, Lindbergh, and Morley were shown freeing slaves and saving some from imminent death at the hands of the Celestial Dragons. For example, Karasu intervened to save an old man from being shot at point-blank range by Saint Pluming.

Ryokugyu and Fujitora arrived to handle the intruders but were at a disadvantage since fighting could endanger the Celestial Dragons' lives. One of them even threatened Ryokugyu with a death sentence if any harm came to the Celestial Dragons.

Meanwhile, Bonney and Sabo were seen in Pangaea Castle, searching for Kuma, who was with Saint Roswald and Saint Charlos. Saint Charlos planned to abduct Princess Shirahoshi using Kuma.

Elsewhere, Vivi was on her way to seek Garp's help to protect Shirahoshi. When Lucci stopped her, claiming CP0 was in charge of everyone's protection, Vivi reminded him that he had failed to help Shirahoshi before and that he would probably do the same next time she needed help.

One Piece episode 1117 came to an end with Chaka and Pell escorting Cobra in wheelchairs to meet the Five Elders. As they were not allowed to accompany Cobra any further, he tasked them with looking after Vivi.

In One Piece episode 1117, viewers get a more serious and heavily dialogue-driven installment that reveals the Revolutionary Army's overarching strategy for inciting uprisings against the World Government.

The episode shows not just their tactics, but also how luck is on their side. One of the key plot points is the way the World Government uses false accusations against Sabo to make him look like the bad guy. This backfires and actually helps the Revolutionary Army gain more sympathy.

One Piece episode 1117 also shows why the Celestial Dragons are so despised within the story. The way they deal with their slaves, enemies, and even those who protect them shows a complete disregard for others. This makes it even more likely that people will support the Revolutionary Army.

The Celestial Dragons are shown as completely evil, which is a bit simplistic compared to other factions like the Navy and pirates, who are shown to have a range of moral complexities. This contrast adds depth to the story and keeps the audience engaged.

In the previous episode, Vice Admiral T Bone was killed in Pepe Kingdom by someone desperate for money, as Cross Guild offered a substantial bounty. Buggy then invited the killer to join his crew to avoid the Navy's pursuit.

Next, Buggy was taken aback when he saw the figurehead of the Cross Guild ship, which resembled him. Even though Crocodile tortured him for it, he later admitted that the Cross Guild had a lot of support. He said that it was now important to set up a military nation to challenge the World Government.

Buggy, though, had even bigger plans. He wanted to become the Pirate King. So, he told his crew that they were going to search for One Piece.

Finally, it was shown that Sabo, with some Lulusians, arrived at Kamabakka Queendom, where they were welcomed with open arms. Sabo then set up a private meeting with Dragon and Ivankov.
