One Piece chapter 1117 was recently leaked and a lot of fans were left hanging by Vegapunk's message as it was cut midway through the recording. This is something that has left the fandom speculating about what these final words could have meant and what this represents for the mystery of the D. Clan, which is one of the biggest plot points in the series as of now.

There is no denying that One Piece author Eiichiro Oda crafted this chapter as a massive cliffhanger for the fans, and the effects are already felt through the leaks. However, it is also worth pointing out that while a lot of English-speaking fans are already trying to make sense of the "mo-" part of Vegapunk's message, it was originally written in Japanese and can have a different meaning and interpretation.

One Piece chapter 1117 leaks have left fans wondering what Vegapunk's final word was going to be

Once chapter 1117 of the manga was leaked, a lot of people were quick to come up with a lot of different interpretations and ways to explain what Vegapunk was about to say with his "mo-" sentence, which was also the name of the chapter in question. A lot of people were English-speaking fans who tried to come up with words that could fit that term, such as "more" or "monster".

However, as aforementioned, it is worth pointing out that the "mo-" was shown in Japanese, potentially serving a different meaning in that language. Since Japanese is a more varied and complex language, there is room for interpretation and meaning, which is something that some people in the fandom were quick to point out.

Now that Vegapunk's message has been cut midway, there is a good chance that Oda is going to show the entirety of the message at some point in the manga.

A lot of One Piece fans were quick to react to the cliffhanger, with comments ranging from references to the original Joy Boy or the nature of the D. Clan. When considering that Vegapunk was talking about the D. Clan when the message was cut midway, it makes sense that fans would reach that conclusion.

Even after 1117 chapters into the story, Oda has yet to fully explain what the D. Clan stands for and how they came to be. In that regard, it seems that Vegapunk had some knowledge of that topic, and that could be a pivotal point for the story moving forward.

"wouldn't be at the beginning of a word though, right? Unless it's "mou" = "anymore", but that doesn't suit the context," someone pointed out.
"Mo being written in hiragana means it probably isn't a foreign word, so we gotta wait for the native speakers' theories," another person said.
"Oda left us at a banger cliffhanger," someone else said.

One Piece chapter 1117 also added more elements of the current conflict with the Elders of the Gorosei, to the point that it seems that the Straw Hats cannot win at the moment. In that regard, Vegapunk's message becomes a lot more interesting to the public.

"I think it stands for more. Maybe Vegapunk was gonna say that there's more members of the D clan, hidden across the world. When we get to Elbaf arc, we might get small clues of the D clan. Perhaps books of Ohara has some info, not all of it," someone said.
"I believe we shouldn't take it literally, since this is one of the occasions that the context and translation matter way more than anything," another person said.

As of right now, Vegapunk's final words are anyone's guess. However, as it happens with One Piece, that isn't going to stop the fandom from coming up with their own theories and interpretations.
