There is no denying that these two characters have interesting roles to play in the series. Kuzan is one of the few major members of the Marine to have betrayed the organization and has joined one of the main villains, Blackbeard, which has spawned some theories that he is working as a spy because he has been portrayed as a somewhat noble individual beforehand.

Monkey D. Garp's importance is a lot more obvious since he is the grandfather of the protagonist, Luffy, and has been widely regarded as one of the strongest members of the Marine. Therefore, it is going to be interesting to see what author Eiichiro Oda does with his character, with some theorizing that he is going to mirror Ace's fate before the time skip.
