One Piece chapter 1118 is set to be released on June 24, 2024, but the spoilers for the chapter have already been unveiled. Where Bonney copying Luffy's Nika form has taken the fandom by storm, this controversy could have confirmed something that the fandom speculated.
The chapter saw a glimpse of Vegapunk's message, which was halted in the previous chapter. The chapter also saw the Gorosei going after the remaining Vegapunk satellites as they escaped from Egghead Island accompanied by the Straw Hats Pirates.
At the end of the chapter, Luffy and Bonney charged at the Marine soldiers as both of them were in the Nika form. Although it hasn't been confirmed as to whether Bonney can use all of Nika's powers, it is safe to say that she can use the same moves as Luffy in his Gear 5. This indicates that she shouldn't join the Straw Hat Pirates, as two Nika personalities in the same crew would be bad writing.

One Piece: Bonney becoming Nika shows why she shouldn't join Luffy's pirate crew
According to the spoilers of One Piece chapter 1118, the chapter commenced with the Iron Giant sinking deep into the sea as he questioned Joyboy about where he was. The chapter then shifted to the Dressrosa KIngdom where people reacted to the halting of Vegapunk's message.
The chapter then returned to Egghead Island where the Gorosei asked Vegapunk York about the remaining Vegapunk satellites as they wanted to eliminate everything from the roots. The Giants also jumped onto their ship alongside Luffy to escape Egghead Island.
Bonney, who had used her quirk on the Marine captains, also joined the Luffy on their ship. As everyone enjoyed a feast on the ship of the Giants, Saint Marcus came flying towards them declaring that none of them were allowed to escape. Sensing danger, Luffy transformed into his Gear 5.
As soon as he transformed, he encouraged Bonney to join him by copying his power. Bonney, remembering her father's stories, imagined a future where Nika existed and used Distorted Future to transform into a Nika form that resembled Luffy's Gear 5. Both of them charged towards Saint Marcus and the Iron Giant responded to Luffy's latest transformation.
The Nika form (Gear 5) is an awakened power of the Human-Human devil fruit (Model: Nika) that can overpower the strongest enemies, as Luffy has already showcased against Kaido and the Gorosei.
Bonney gaining this power could cause a few complications. Firstly, this would affect the lore of One Piece as Bonney attaining the true Nika powers makes very little sense or relationship to her devil fruit.
But the biggest concern, in the eyes of fans, could be that Bonney likely joining the Straw Hat Pirates. Luffy calls Bonney by her name, which is the biggest hint for a character to join the Straw Hats in the future. But now that she can easily transform into Nika, joining the Straw Hat Pirates would be fair.
However, as stated earlier, Nika is a broken power. Even though it hasn't been confirmed whether Bonney can use Gear 5's true powers or not, she is accompanying Luffy against Saint Marcus, which heavily hints at her having some powers of Nika. So, two Nika personalities in the same pirate crew would be bad writing from the writer, as this could make the Straw Hat Pirates invincible.
