One Piece chapter 1119 was recently leaked and showed a lot of the Straw Hats' battle against the Elders of the Gorosei. One of the most prominent moments was when the Iron Giant managed to hurt one of them, Warcury. This has led to a lot of speculations about how he tried to damage such a powerful entity, with some fans even going as far as suggesting that he is using alchemy.

There is no denying that the One Piece fandom is prone to come up with such theories, with many of them not coming to fruition, but this one has some legs due to the nature of the Iron Giant. It suggests that he has the ability to talk and even interact with people, shown through his apology to Joy Boy because he has the soul of a living being inside him through alchemy.

Explaining how the Iron Giant could add alchemy to the world of One Piece

One of the most surprising moments of chapter 1119 was how the Iron Giant managed to hurt Warcury, one of the members of the Gorosei. thus resulting in a lot of fan speculation regarding how he did it. One of the concepts thrown into the discussion is that there could be a soul trapped within the Iron Giant through the process of alchemy.

Alchemy was a pseudo-science from centuries ago and was theorized as the transformation of matter, such as turning metals into gold and even going as far as having spiritual properties as well. This is why some fans have come up with the idea that a process of alchemy led to a soul being trapped in the Iron Giant, giving him free will, as seen through his apology to Joy Boy.

That could suggest that the Iron Giant has access to Haki since the latter is based on the user's will, thus allowing him to hurt Warcury. Moreover, just like alchemy was eventually disproven in human history, author Eiichiro Oda could twist that into his story, showing how the World Government perhaps erased it from history records because it was deemed as a threat to them.

There is no denying that the Straw Hats and the Elbaf Giants are in a dire situation as the Elders of the Gorosei managed to corner them for the most part. However, it is very likely that they are going to escape Egghead, as has been the case for almost the entirety of One Piece, although the big question is how and what would be the cost for that.

Several fans have theorized that the Iron Giant is going to be the one making a sacrifice so that Straw Hats can escape, thus saving the new user of the Nika Fruit in Luffy. There is also a case of Dr. Vegapunk's message and the hidden truths he might be calling out in that recording.

Final thoughts

The Iron Giant could have a soul within him, thus giving Oda an opportunity to introduce the concept of alchemy in One Piece. However, this is just another fan theory, as has been the case multiple times, so readers have to take this with a grain of salt.
