Following the reunion of the East Blue crew in chapter 1127, One Piece fans are extremely curious to see what the series has in store for its upcoming chapter 1128. The issue’s release is especially anticipated in the wake of theories surrounding some major discrepancies and inconsistencies in chapter 1127’s art and dialogue.
Unfortunately, verifiable spoilers for One Piece’s upcoming issue are unavailable as of the time of this article’s writing. While they are likely to come at some point this week, there is no guarantee given their inherently illicit nature. Likewise, recent anti-manga piracy efforts in Japan have put the longevity and status of the series’ spoiler process in doubt.
Thankfully, there are some aspects of and events within One Piece’s upcoming installment that fans can count on being present even without the help of verifiable spoilers. It’ll likely be revealed exactly where in Elbaf the Straw Hats are, as well as whether or not what they’re experiencing is reality or some sort of facade.
One Piece likely to confirm Nami and the other Straw Hats as being in a “fake Elbaf” in chapter 1128
One Piece chapter 1128 will likely further the Elbaf Arc by explaining how the East Blue crew’s current surroundings and sensations are fabrications. This would explain the inconsistencies seen in the previous issue, such as Luffy not having his Straw Hat on him, calling a Gear Third move by Gear Fourth’s name, and the weapon on his back changing constantly.
Nami will likely notice this as she settles into the group with the others, keeping these inconsistencies to herself to not put herself in danger. It’s likely that Usopp is the only other real Straw Hat here with her given their interactions in chapter 1127. While the major inconsistencies were isolated to Luffy, Zoro and Sanji are also suspicious of some lesser dialogues. However, Usopp seems to truly be himself based on what's been seen so far.
One Piece fans can likewise expect to see Nami come to the same conclusion regarding Usopp, deciding to confess to him that she thinks something is wrong. He’ll likely agree, whether it’s based on intuition or something more. This would specifically be a good point to reestablish Usopp’s ability to use Observation Haki and would also explain how he was able to definitively confirm that something is fishy.
However, the two are unlikely to attack these versions of the Monster Trio, instead likely attempting to escape by saying they’ll go do something. This should prompt whoever is in charge of the current illusion, or whoever is masquerading as the Monster Trio, to reveal themselves and accept they’ve been caught. It’s likely that fans will see this character or these characters formally introduced, but shift focus quickly thereafter.
Chapter 1128 will likely first return to The Great Erik, where the Giant Warrior Pirates will likely be explaining what Elbaf is like. This should give readers some idea of what’s going on with Nami and Usopp currently, potentially even directly referencing the characters introduced just panels prior.
From here, the focus will likely shift for a final time to Luffy’s location, whether he’s with the real Zoro and Sanji or not. Fans can expect this focus to also give some more context as to what’s going on with the separated Straw Hats, as well as where they truly are if not the island of Elbaf.
