Vinsmoke Sanji is one of the most controversial characters in One Piece. While some fans appreciate his services for his captain and consider him one of the best, some consider him one of the worst characters due to his creepy demeanor when it comes to women.
His creepiness reaches a new level after he spends 2 years without looking at any woman. One scene saw Sanji want the Clear-Clear devil fruit and the fandom thinks that this could be because of his urge to satiate his lust for women by becoming invisible.
But there is hardly any chance of Sanji wanting something like this because when he wished for such a thing, he was just a little boy. The only thing that could be going through his mind is getting accepted by his family, as his German Suit also showcased the same powers as this devil fruit.

One Piece: Exploring why Sanji's most degenerate wish could have a pure meaning behind it
Vinsmoke Sanji is the cook of the Straw Hat Pirates and also the fourth person to join Luffy's pirate crew. He was recruited after the Baratie Arc of One Piece and has since offered his services as someone who never lets anyone sleep with an empty stomach.
Unfortunately, he tried to cut ties with his crew when his family tried to arrange his marriage with one of Charlotte Linlin's daughters, Pudding. But Luffy didn't abandon him and made him return to where he belonged from the very start.
He had one of the saddest origin stories because his father, Vinsmoke Judge, didn't consider him worthy of being his son because his body wasn't modified like his other siblings. So, Reiju, Sanji's sister, helped him escape from the Germa Kingdom, their home, so that he could find kind people in some part of the Grand Line.
Sanji started working as a chef at a very small age until their ship was wrecked by the Zeff Pirates. After this incident, Sanji enjoyed a moment with Zeff and they started from scratch with their restaurant, Baratie.
While staying in the German Kingdom, Sanji got his hands on the Devil Fruit Encyclopedia. While exploring the book, Sanji learned about the Clear-Clear devil fruit and wished for its powers. During the Thriller Bark arc of One Piece, Sanji again put light on this issue when he saw the person who had the powers of this devil fruit, Absalom.
This became a big controversy in the eyes of the fans because they thought Sanji only wanted this devil fruit to fulfill his creepy dreams of looking at beautiful women. But the real reason behind this could be a much more bittersweet one.
As soon as Sanji was born, Vinsmoke Judge revealed that he enhanced his children through genetic enhancements. Unfortunately, out of all the siblings, Sanji was the only one who was normal even after the genetic enhancements. This had Judge declare him a failure.
This was when he picked up the Devil Fruit Encyclopedia. The Clear-Clear devil fruit had similar abilities to Sanji's Germa suit, the suit that enhanced the siblings' powers. It had the power to make its user invisible, similar to the devil fruit. As Sanji didn't have enhanced powers, he always dreamed of having such powers.
So, Sanji's reason for obtaining the Clear-Clear devil fruit could be for him to get accepted by his father and siblings. His degenerate personality does make fans jump to conclusions and there is no telling that his aim could have changed, just like how his All Blue also changed when he saw mermaids.
