The Straw Hat Pirates are at the doorstep of One Piece's Elbaf arc and the arc will see the finale battle, deciding who will be the person that gets away with the grand treasure. With fans speculating about the return of some grand antagonists, there is one antagonist that the fandom seems to have forgotten. This antagonist is Big Mom, who was thrown into magma during the Wano arc.

While there are several foreshadowings about Big Mom's return, the biggest factor about her return could be Lola's Vivre card. Smoothie having this Vivre card, and the power to extract things from magma, could lead a half-dead Big Mom toward the Straw Hats' future destination where she could also encounter some old enemies.

Speculating the return of Big Mom in One Piece's Elbaf arc

Charlotte Linlin, or Big Mom, is a former Conqueror of the Sea and the captain of the Big Mom Pirates. She met her 'potential end' during the Wano arc after she was cornered by Trafalgar Law and Eustass Kidd, one of the strongest pirates from the Worst Generation.

These two pirates awakened their devil fruit powers during this fight and were giving the former Conqueror a tough time. However, Big Mom risked her life to increase her powers. Despite all this, she was overpowered and thrown into the hot magma of a volcano. After this incident, her whereabouts were unknown.

However, despite a few Beast Pirates, the majority of the Big Mom Pirates believed that their captain couldn't die because she was a beast like none other. Pudding's confidence and Perospero's belief in her Vivre card still not burned proved that she could definitely be alive.

Earlier in the series, Luffy challenged Big Mom and claimed that he would take the Fisherman Island under him, giving the former Conqueror another reason to return. Moreover, her return could be on the same island where the Straw Hat Pirates are heading because of Nami.

During the Whole Cake Island, Smoothie, a Big Mom Pirate, tore a piece of Lola's Vivre Card which Nami had. With Nami still having the remaining Vivre card with her, Big Mom could directly be led toward the Straw Hat Pirates. But how would she escape from the magma? This could be where one of the Big Mom Pirates would play a big role.

Charlotte Smoothie is one of the three sweet commanders of Big Mom Pirates. She has the powers of the Shibo-Shibo Paramecia devil fruit which gives her the ability to extract liquid from anything. In the series, Smoothie mentioned a smoothie titled the 'magma smoothie,' which could be a foreshadowing of her saving Big Mom from the magma she is currently trapped in.

All of these hints could directly tie Big Mom to the daughter of the Norse God Loki, Hel. Hel was the ruler of Hel, the place where people go after dying a non-glorious death. Just like Big Mom, Hel's personality changed drastically from when she matured.

So, just like Hel, Big Mom's return could see her in an extremely injured state, as Hel was half-dead and half-alive. The biggest relationship of Norse mythology is with the Elbaf Island, the Tree of Yggdrasil, so her return to One Piece's Elbaf arc could be a given considering how many hints connect her meeting with Luffy.
