One Piece's final war is right around the corner, and the Elbaf arc could be the prequel to the finale arc. However, there could be a chance that the events of the final war have already been foreshadowed through past arcs. The answer to this theory lies in the sequence of the arcs aired previously.

With the Egghead arc paralleling the Saboady arc and the Elbaf arc paralleling the Amazon Lily arc, the final war arc could parallel the Marineford arc. The biggest deciding factor in this case could be Garp's survival. Garp could parallel Portgas D Ace in this arc, following a similar progression to the Marineford arc, leaving Luffy and Blackbeard as the only candidates to become the Pirate King.

One Piece: Exploring the connection between the final war arc and the Marineford arc

The Egghead arc commenced the final saga of One Piece, and the saga could end with the finale arc of the series. However, this final arc could be parallel to the Marineford arc, given how its previous arcs mirror the arcs that preceded the Marineford arc.

Egghead Island mirrored the Saboady arc, as the final saga arc featured the same set of antagonists, with their fates reversed. Similarly, the Elbaf arc mirrors the Amazon Lily arc, given how nine Straw Hats were separated in the latter, mirroring the nine levels of the Elbaf Island's Yggdrasil tree.

So, the final war arc could mirror the Marineford arc in its major events. The most significant aspect in all of this would be Garp's survival, which could be similar to what happened to Portgas D Ace in the Marineford arc.

Garp is currently captured by the Blackbeard Pirates who could execute him publically, similar to what happened to Ace at Marineford. This would be the cue for the Straw Hat Pirates to rush towards Hachinose Island, the headquarters of the Blackbeard Pirates.

So, the final war could take place at Hachinose Island, and the arrival of the other fighters would also be similar to that at Marineford Island. Starting with the man who ended the Marineford war; Shanks could spark the final war, as he has been chasing Blackbeard, and meeting the latter on Hachinose would commence the war.

Mirroring Ace's escape from Impel Down could be the escape of Doflamingo, with the help of Buggy, who would join the Cross Guild afterward. Mirroring Sengoku's sympathy toward Shanks could be the betrayal of Kuzan, as he had other aims for joining the Blackbeard Pirates.

The arrival of the three Admirals and all of the big guns of the Marine Corps could be mirrored by the arrival of Garling Figarland (a current member of the Gorosei, the God Knights), which could be led by the mysterious swordsman (allegedly Shanks' brother), and Akainu (the current Fleet Admiral).

With the God Knights in action, this would also be a cue for the Revolutionary Army to enter the battlefield. Lastly, this would also trigger SWORD to make an entry, with a focus on Koby, who would rush toward Hachinose to help his teacher, Garp.

Surprisingly, all of the members that could visit Hachinose for the final war were already foreshadowed in the two-page panel after Vegapunk's message ended. Moreover, after the final war, only the Straw Hat Pirates and the Blackbeard Pirates would be left to fight for the One Piece. So, the race to become the Pirate King could be between Marshall D Teech and Monkey D Luffy.
