One Piece's Imu may have gotten an Ancient Weapon from Joy Boy himself, and this theory explains how

In Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, the Ancient Weapons are depicted as game changers that are expected to be in action during the final war. So far it has been revealed that one of these weapons, Uranus, is under Imu's control.

However, the remaining two, Pluton and Poseidon, remain out of his reach. Pluton is a technologically advanced battleship with the power to wreak havoc on a massive scale, hidden beneath Mt. Fuji in Wano Country. Poseidon, on the other hand, is a mermaid with the unique ability to converse with and exert control over the Sea Kings. At present, Shirahoshi is Poseidon.

The mystery that baffles many is how Imu managed to acquire Uranus. Vegapunk's revelations suggest that Uranus was not intended for Imu, raising even more questions. However, a fan theory appears to provide a plausible explanation to this.

Fan theory reveals a surprising Christian parallel in One Piece

A very interesting fan theory has been proposed by @ohimetenshi on the platform X which draws parallels between Christianity and the One Piece. The theory suggests that just as Judas betrayed Jesus Christ, Imu might have betrayed Joy Boy. It is undeniable that Joy Boy is portrayed as a messianic figure, very much like Christ.

The theory further speculates that Joy Boy's pirate crew might have consisted of twelve members, which is the same number as the twelve apostles of Christ.

But the most interesting bit from the theory is the claim that Joy Boy may have given Imu the Ancient Weapon Uranus.

In chapter 1116, Vegapunk disclosed that Joy Boy originally possessed or at least had access to these weapons during the Void Century. He intended for these weapons to be passed down to future generations and he might have given one of them to Imu.

But Imu joined the alliance of twenty nations, which later formed the World Government, to bring down Joy Boy and the Ancient Kingdom.

This theory also sounds plausible due to the presence of Christian symbols and references in the series, such as crosses and notably, Kuma's Bible. Kuma is also a devout follower of Nika, who is prophesied to bring liberation to all, thus creating a major connection between the Sun God and Christ.

Oda is known to add such layers as the story progresses, so this does not seem incongruous at all.

So far, readers have seen Imu put Uranus to use in order to obliterate the Lulusia Kingdom using Vegapunk's invention, the Mother Flame, to power the Ancient Weapon. The kingdom had recently been in turmoil due to a citizen uprising against its King Seki and Princess Komane, as part of the Eight-Nation Revolution.

Another reason behind the kingdom's tragic fate is because it had provided asylum to Sabo following his escape from Mary Geoise, after witnessing the murder of King Cobra and the true identities of the Five Elders. Sabo had also discovered that Imu, the secret ruler of the world, occupies the Empty Throne.
