One Piece chapter 1130 is set to be released on October 21, 2024, but the raw scans for the chapter have already been released. Although the spoilers for the chapter teased the reveal of new bounties for the Straw Hat Pirates, the actual reveal was for Dorry and Brogy whose bounties skyrocketed from the ones announced in the Little Garden arc.

Though the fandom seemed unhappy with the absurd increase in their bounties, it still makes sense because these giants helped the most notorious pirate on Egghead and were the reason why Monkey D Luffy managed to escape without getting caught by the World Government.

One Piece: Why the bounty increase of Dorry and Brogy makes perfect sense

One Piece chapter 1130 raw scans showcased the Arabasta team struggling to enter the Elbaph castle while the Giants on their ship discussed their thoughts about the prince of Elbaph, Loki. While they were doing so, the News Coo delivered the day's newspaper.

Being humungous creatures, the giants couldn't read the newspaper so Robin read them the headline. It stated that the New Giants Pirates arose after their 100-year slumber and helped the Straw Hat Pirates set Egghead Island ablaze. If this wasn't infuriating enough, the bounties of both of these giants were also updated.

Their previous bounties of Dorry and Brogy, as revealed during the Little Garden arc, were 100 million bellies each, which were increased to 1.8 billion bellies. This indicated that each of their individual bounties was increased by an absurd 1.7 billion bellies in one go. The giants blamed this on inflation because their bounties were updated after 100 years.

As absurd as this increase might look, all of it makes perfect sense because the Egghead Incident was one of the biggest blunders for the World Government. Not only did the Giants help the Straw Hat Pirates in fighting the Five Elders, but they also helped the pirate crew escape, meaning that the World Government again missed out on capturing Monkey D Luffy, all because of the giants.

Moreover, the demise of Saint Saturn could be one of the casualties that led to such an absurd increase in the giants' bounties, even though his death could still be unannounced among the majority of World Government members. So, the impact of Dorry and Brogy on the Egghead Incident was major from the perspective of the World Government, which makes their bounty increase sensible.

Analysis and final thoughts

One of the biggest debates the fandom is having over the recent bounty increase is how Mr. 3 of the Baroque Works also deserved billions worth of bounty increase because of what he did during the Little Garden arc. During the said arc, to capture Luffy, Mr. 3 ordered his assistant to add a bomb to the alcohol Luffy and Dorry were having.

Unfortunately, Dorry gulped down the entire alcohol and faced the backlash of the bomb that was present inside it. Later, when Dorry and Brogy clashed, Dorry lost because of the injuries and Mr 3 revealed to Brogy that his win was because of the alcohol he had. This angered Brogy but he was immobilized due to Mr. 3's devil fruit.

Although Mr. 3 taking out both giants was a mix of his manipulation and strength, this incident didn't happen before the World Government. As bounties are announced based on the actions which the World Government witnesses, like the Egghead Incident, Mr. 3's bounty increase wouldn't make any sense at all.
