One Piece chapter 1128 has already started to get leaked and there has been what seems to be the introduction of the main antagonist, the "Sun God". A lot of people have noticed that this title is the same that Nika, Luffy's Devil Fruit, has received in multiple cultures, including that of Elbaf, which could suggest a premise of false gods.
It would make sense that lying and manipulation are a part of this arc in One Piece since the World Government is known for rewriting history, and could have done something similar in Elbaf to gain the Giants' favor since they are a culture that celebrates Nika. It could also explain Luffy's role in this arc as he would have to prove that he is the actual Sun God and set the record straight.

The premise of the Elbaf arc in One Piece could be centered around the theme of false gods
This theory was started by a user on X named @BlacktyonteXavi, suggesting that the story of the Elbaf arc is going to be focused on a false prophet titled the "Sun God" in order to gain the favor of the Giants. There are examples of false gods in Norse mythology, which is a huge inspiration for Elbaf, and Loki— a figure who is known for tricking and deceiving people— could also be an inspiration.
On the other hand, it fits with the overarching narrative of the series that the World Government could have placed someone there as a false Nika of sorts to win over the Giants. After all, it has been confirmed that the people of Elbaf worship the Sun God, which means that this is something that the World Government could exploit, especially considering that the face of this individual looks similar to that of one of the Holy Knights.
It is also worth pointing out that Luffy has yet to address the fact that he is Nika, which is why this premise could be the way he discovers his role as the titular Sun God. It would make sense and could give his character a bit of development as he has to deal with this revelation.
Expectations for the Elbaf arc
The general perception of the fandom is that the Elbaf arc could be important in One Piece, mainly because it has been theorized that Shanks is there at the moment. There has been a lot of hype for a possible reunion between him and Luffy, especially considering that they are both going after the same treasure to become the Pirate King.
On the other hand, a lot of people theorize this is the last chance that Usopp has to be a prominent character in the series since he has massive admiration for the giants of Elbaf. Therefore, there are a lot of expectations that this arc could be a key moment for his character and perhaps even give him a power-up to compete with the rest of the crew.
Final thoughts
There is a good chance that this arc could be setting up a premise of false gods in One Piece, which is something that fits with the overarching themes of the series. However, it is early stages yet and fans have to take this theory with a grain of salt.
