One Piece's true battle of Sun Gods is coming

One Piece chapter 1130 is set to be released on October 21, 2024, but the raw scans have already been revealed. Where the raw scans did the face reveal of Loki, the brief spoilers of the chapter showed that the Prince of Elbaf possessed a legendary devil fruit without unveiling the specifics. However, in reality, this devil fruit could be similar to Luffy's Mythical Nika fruit.

The term legendary could also be interpreted as 'mythical' and going by the change of terminologies, Loki's current devil fruit could be on par with Luffy's Nika fruit, such that it wouldn't be wrong to call them both as Sun Gods. This idea has already been explored before with the fake Sun God but with Loki, the battle of the Sun Gods would be a real one.

One Piece chapter 1130 teases the battle between Loki and Luffy for the title of the Sun God

According to the One Piece chapter 1130 raw scans, while the Straw Hat Pirates were crossing a bridge to enter the Elbaf castle, Luffy jumped from the bridge after getting annoyed by something. After he touched the ground, he encountered a humungous personality that was chained to the tree of Yggdrasil. This personality was the cursed prince Loki.

On the other hand, back on the Giants' ship, after Dorry and Brogy finished sharing their views of Prince Loki with the Straw Hat Pirates, chapter 1130 raw scans explained that Loki killed his father and obtained his 'legendary' devil fruit without specifying the details of this devil fruit.

Back to Elbaph Island where Loki and Luffy were engaged in a conversation after which the former claimed that he was the Sun God, the one who would bring an end to the world of One Piece. This again started the controversy of the legitimacy of the Sun God's true identity.

The previous chapter revealed that the fake Sun God was Road, one of the New Giants' Pirates, and reassured the fandom that Luffy was indeed the inheritor of JoyBoy's will. However, the current chapter brought Loki into this discussion and this could be a different case than Road.

The flashback in the chapter explained that Loki got the legendary devil fruit after killing his father. This devil fruit could be a mythical one, similar to Luffy's Nika fruit, and these two devil fruits could have the same potential. So, while calling Loki the 'Sun God' is neither right nor wrong, his encounter with Luffy set up the battle for the title of the Sun God.

Analysis and final thoughts

The lore of the Sun God has been established since the early days of the series during the Little Garden arc when Dorry and Brogy claimed that their battle would be decided by the God of Elbaph, which could be the Sun God.

The fake Sun God's tale was trivial and Loki's entrance could change the entire game. With Loki being the prince and next in line for the throne as the ruler of Elbaph. his battle with Luffy would be the most exciting one.
