Ancient Weapons in One Piece is one of the most controversial elements from the series for various reasons. Not only is the information about them very limited, but their potential as a weapon of mass destruction is also questionable.
One of these weapons is Uranus, the most mysterious one whose current whereabouts are unknown to mankind but it is speculated that it could be in the hands of Imu and the World Government who used it to eradicate the Lulusia Kingdom.
Where most fans consider this the potential of Uranus, there could be more to it than just this destructive power. This Ancient Weapon could be a spaceship that was brought to Earth by an alien species for the purpose of changing the planet's atmosphere. The alien species went extinct afterward which gave the World Government the opportunity to seize the Ancient Weapon.

One Piece: Exploring the Truth Behind the Ancient Weapon Uranus
Ancient Weapons are weapons of mass destruction passed on by JoyBoy from the Ancient Kingdom to the future generation. There are three such weapons that exist in the series: Uranus, Pluton, and Poseidon.
Pluton is a powerful warship that has the ability to destroy an island in a single shot and is currently present somewhere below the Wano Kingdom. Poseidon's potential as a weapon is unknown because it is in the form of Princess Shirahoshi from the Ryugu Kingdom.
Lastly, the third Ancient Weapon is Uranus. There is no information about this weapon, but the most famous speculation regarding this weapon is that it is in the hands of the World Government.
This weapon could be what Imu used to eradicate the Lulusia Kingdom from the map of the Grand Line, but there is no telling if it is a living (like Shirahoshi) or non-living (Pluton) entity. But more importantly, it needs to be addressed as to whether destruction is the main purpose of this weapon.
As speculated from the Lulusia Kingdom incident, where humungous lasers were shooting from the sky, the Ancient Weapon Uranus could actually be a spaceship. But if it is a spaceship, does it make it an extraterrestrial weapon? The answer lies in the ancient race of One Piece, the Lunarians.
Lunarians are an extinct race in the series that went into extinction in the past. The only survivor of this race is King, one of the Beast Pirates. Although it hasn't been specified, this race could have originated from the moon as indicated by their name (Lunarians means 'moon-like' in Latin).
Given their origins and the speculation of Uranus being an extraterrestrial weapon, Lunarians could be the one who came to Earth with Uranus. This could reveal the true purpose behind this weapon: Uranus could be a sky-borne vessel that is used for the mass transport of humans.
This adds another layer to the power of this weapon, which could be inspired by Christopher Nolan's movie Man of Steel. At the end of the movie, the Kryptonians (antagonists) invade Earth, on a similar sky-borne vessel like Uranus, but they use their vessel to change the core of Earth to transform it into Krypton.
This would make the environmental conditions of this planet the same as Kypton, thus helping the Kryptonians thrive easily. Uranus, just like the Kryptonian vessel, could also have had a similar purpose, which was to transform Earth into something similar to the Moon.
Unfortunately, the Lunarians couldn't do so and could have gone extinct during their battle to do so. The weapon then landed in the hands of JoyBoy who then passed it onto the future generations until the World Government seized it.
