One Piece has recently started focusing hugely on awakened Devil Fruits, with their users becoming increasingly common. Among the Strawhat Crew, Nico Robin stands out as a pivotal member, her profound intellect and archaeological prowess often shaping critical moments post-battle. While her full capabilities remain largely unexplored, glimpses of her potential arise in sporadic but significant combat instances.
Robin’s association with the enigmatic poneglyphs and her moniker as the "devil child" hint at deeper powers yet to be fully realized. Speculation swirls around her potential awakening, theorized to unfold in arcs such as Elbaf or Egghead Island, amidst mounting interest from the Gorosei.

One Piece: Robin's moniker might lead to her Devil Fruit awakening
Nico Robin has been one of the most influential and arguably one of the most important crew members of the Strawhat Crew, other than Luffy himself. Although her full powers have not been explored much and most of her role as a highly intelligent and competent archaeologist comes into play after much of the fighting and major events of an arc are done, her few fight scenes still possibly foreshadow her next Devil Fruit awakening.
As explained by Kaido, Devil Fruit awakening happens when the user becomes completely attuned to their Devil Fruit and thus unlocks its full power. This, along with the theory that the actual application of a Devil Fruit depends on how the user interprets its powers, makes it clear that Robin might actually unlock a devil form due to her Devil Fruit awakening in the near future. Robin has been repeatedly addressed as the "devil child" due to her connection with Ohara and her ability to read poneglyphs.
Robin has also been hunted due to this by the World Government ever since she fled from Ohara, so now it has almost become her identity. The series has also shown her using her powers to transform into different forms, along with creating bigger versions of her limbs and entire body in some cases.
It is entirely possible that her actual power will allow her to completely manipulate her own appearance as well as her strength. This was somewhat teased by her devil form, which she assumed during her fight against Black Maria in the Wano arc.
Currently, only Luffy is a Strawhat crew member with an awakened Devil Fruit. Given that there are not many Devil Fruit users in the crew to begin with, it is very possible that Robin's Devil Fruit will become awakened. It is even more likely since the story is nearing its end and Robin's skills are actually becoming more important than ever.
Final Thoughts
Nico Robin's pivotal role in One Piece, often overshadowed, hints at a significant awakening of her Devil Fruit powers. As the story nears its climax, her ability to manipulate her appearance and strength could become crucial.
Speculation points to possible awakenings in the Elbaf or Egghead Island arcs, with intrigue heightened by the Gorosei's interest in her. Chapter 1119 releases on June 30, 2024, promising further revelations.
