The silhouette appeared as part of Emeth’s memories, who recalled his last encounter with Joy Boy before losing consciousness. In these memories, Emeth is depicted speaking directly to Joy Boy.

While there were previous speculations about Joy Boy being a Buccaneer or a Giant, this chapter clarified that he was indeed human, albeit with what appeared to be a peg leg. However, what intrigued fans even more was Joy Boy’s position atop something square-shaped; it did not resemble a cliff but rather seemed to be a Poneglyph.
