With the release of One Punch Man Chapter 208, the manga saw Empty Void return from the higher dimension. However, he was not the same as before when he escaped Blast's power of darkness. While the manga has yet to confirm it, evidence suggests that Empty Void has finally become Cosmic Empty Void.

The previous chapter saw Blast and Empty Void fight each other. While it seemed like Blast was more powerful, the S-Class Rank 1 Hero tried to stop the fight by restraining his former partner. Unfortunately, this plan did not work as Empty Void escaped to the higher dimension and attacked Blast, Sonic, and Flash with a Dimension Slash.

One Punch Man Chapter 208, titled Perverse, picked up from where the previous chapter ended as Blast could be seen carrying Speed-o'-Sound Sonic and Flashy Flash. Sonic was so shocked by the Dimension Slash that he thought it was a genjutsu. However, Flashy Flash quickly corrected him, explaining how the Ninja Village was an experimental ground to create monsters like the Empty Void.

As for Blast, just as he realized that Empty Void had awakened a new form, the former ninja village founder kicked him from behind. With that, One Punch Man Chapter 208 revealed Empty Void's newly awakened form, dubbed as "Cosmic Empty Void" by fans.

Empty Void explained how he felt something off when he absorbed Garou's powers. Even though the former antagonist was granted power by God, he secretly also held a dark nature that defied it. However, as a result, Blast's Power of Darkness which countered God's powers could no longer work on him. On top of that, he also remembered his rage towards Blast which God's will made him forget.

Right after, One Punch Man Chapter 208 saw Blast toss his shades to Flashy Flash and prepare his fists for battle. While Empty Void tried to strike Blast with Spiraling Wind Blade, the S-Class Rank 1 Hero used portals to dodge the attacks and hit the former ninja village founder from his blind spots.

Blast knew that he could not let Empty Void get a chance to escape to the higher dimension, hence he kept hitting his former partner from his blind spots. Just then, One Punch Man Chapter 208 saw Empty Void initiating his counterattack. Using his swift katana swings, he chopped off Blast's right arm.

The antagonist knew that Blast could not teleport unless he put his fists together. Hence, by chopping one of his arms away, Empty Void made Blast the perfect target, unable to dodge the Dimension Slash. In addition, he also wished to have Blast witness all the destruction he was going to cause around the world.

However, Blast had doubts about Empty Void. As per him, his former partner was lying because if Empty Void were the same person he fought with 15 years ago, he would have immediately cut off his head. But now that he had absorbed Garou's power, God's brainwashing was starting to wear off. Just as Blast said this, his entire body spurted out blood from slashes presumably made by Empty Void.
